What you didn't know about Electric Vehicles
First, if you have capability to charge at home, its a no brainer. Around the Pacific NW, a kilowatt of electricity costs about 11 cents. My EV 6 GT (576 horsepower) at 60 mph on freeway will easily achieve 3 miles per kilowatt of battery power ... less powerful model will get 4 to 5 miles per kilowatt. Roughly estimating a dollar of electricity charged at home will get about 30 miles of range on the GT. How far will your gas engine car go on a dollar of fuel? The numbers change a little if you cannot charge at home and have to use public charging stations. Those costs can vary from 20 cents to 50 cents a kilowatt, depending on the speed of the charger and the vendor. Otherwise, this car is a hoot ... like having an amusement park ride in your garage!
