-THE..HOT HATCH TO HAVE!

Best all around hatch to have, perfect balance, great sounding VR6 engine, nimble and light and plenty powerful for the size and engine. Timeless style that still looks modern after 16yrs. Will definitely keep this car as long as possible.

2002 GTI -Still going strong!

This is my second VW; my first being a'90 Corrado. It has the 1.8 turbo engine and 5 speed manual transmission. With regular maintenance, it has given me good service (173,000 miles, so far...) and is still fun to drive. It is not high tech, but that makes me pay more attention to driving. It can act as a mini-station wagon with its large cargo capacity. It is built like a tank. I wish I could but another new one exactly like mine, but I can't. So, it's maintain, maintain, maintain...!

Still my favorite car.

I bought this car new in 2002 and have enjoyed driving it ever since. I have the VR6 with a 6-speed manual transmission, it still has the capability to put a smile on my face. The build quality is great and this car has been nearly trouble free.
