I had previously written a review for my purchase experience. (Original text included below for reference). Sadly, the unwanted, and deceptively sold, security system mentioned in my original review just gave me cause to revisit and lower my review of the sales experience.
As mentioned below, I was originally told that I had to purchase the 3rd party security system because it had already been installed on the car. Only to find out later, once the contract had already been signed, that I had to schedule an appointment to install the security system. So the clerk filling out the sales paperwork flat out lied to me. It was only around $1200, I was satisfied with the price for the car, and extra security isn't a bad idea. So ... Whatever. Leave a review documenting the deception. Caveat emptor. Move on...
Fast forward to today, July 2026. While randomly in a YouTube rabbit hole, I find out that the alarm system installed in my car has a major security hole that allows potential car thieves to hack the vehicle with little trouble. When I contacted the 3rd party alarm company to get an updated firmware patch to fix the vulnerability, it turns out that my alarm system had never been active since purchase. Apparently I needed to download an app and pair the system to my phone in order to activate the protection. No one mentioned this to me when I took my car for the alarm installation. So for the entire time I've owned the vehicle, I've had an unwanted security system that I was tricked into paying for, that was never actually active! To add insult to injury, the system was powered and able to be hacked, it just wasn't providing alarm/security services. And to boot, Chapman Hyundai never sent any kind of notice that the alarm systems they sold had any type of vulnerability.
I've changed my original review from 4 to 1 stars. This type of deception I can't come back from. BUYER BEWARE! And if a security system from KARR is installed. Be sure that you have the latest firmware to patch the security bug.

Shawn Sicari was great! Knowledgeable, friendly, and very great and showing the features of the vehicles. I would highly recommend him to anyone!!! Very satisfied! The actual sales process was slightly less so. The big let down was when I was told by the manager that I could not remove an alarm security system add-on from the purchase price of the car because it was already installed on the car, only to be told later on in finance that I had to sign an IOU for the installation because they had to install it on the car at a later date... Honesty in sales is paramount, and although I'm satisfied with the overall sales price, not so much with the aforementioned deception.
