When I reviewed my dash cam footage, I discovered that after being told my car was ready to be picked up and they knew I would be getting it the next morning, a mechanic had driven it to his personal apartment overnight and returned it the next morning before I arrived. During both drives he was on FaceTime, scrolling on social media, and even ran a stop sign.
Management called it a “test drive” even though there was footage of a test drive the day before and they had already told me my car was finished and ready to pick up. They never admitted it was wrong and never apologized. A refund for the labor was only given after significant pushback.
If I didn’t have a dash cam, I never would have known. This shop is conveniently close to me and from what I can tell they do good work. But taking my car for personal use without my permission was a serious violation of my trust. I will not be coming back.
