Unprofessional, rude and scammers
I never write reviews but today this is absolutely neccessay so future customers are aware of what they're getting into and dealing with when they decide to bring their vehicle here for repairs. At first thing were great but within the last three years I've noticed the customer service, customer comunication and quality of work decline. First bad experience I had was with a strut they replaced. I had a set of struts done on a chevy uplander and within a year the strut went bad. They acknowledged it was bad but refused to replace it under warranty. They insisted that I the customer contact Monoe strut company to get a refund but I would still have to pay them for labor. I paid Emporium to do the work and get the part so they should be the ones reaching out to the company and not the customer. I chalked this up to first bad experience and maybe this is a one time thing. Took my vehicle back there again after that for a noise it was making when driving. I ask when taking a car to the shop "are you sure after I get the work done this issue will be resolved?" Don't play process of elimination with my money. They insisted that it was this and that and I paid them over a grand just to get in my vehicle and hear the same exact sound! And of course they said.......But oh, you needed that work done too but your frame is what's making the noise. Why wouldn't you say that in the first place or say we're not sure what the noise is but we should fix this or that first and see if it resolves the noise problem. Then I would have been aware the noise could potentialy still be there. On top of that they are a business where people spend thousands of dollars on repairs but they wait until they do the repair and tell you they only accept CASH and then show you a sign at the counter that says that. They have PAY WITH VISA signs all in tyne lobby! What a joke! How about you notify the customers about to receive a $1500 repair bill that you only accept cash when they drop it off or when they call and not after the $1500 repair is done? I hadn't used them for over a year and decided to give them a try one last time like a dummy for a small project. Last straw! Myself and my Godfather replaced the rear brake pads, rotors and a caliper on a Dodge Durango. Wasn't sure if there was a scanner tool needed to bleed the brakes so I took it to them so they can bleed them and asked them to rotate the tires while they had the vehicle up in the air. Note: brakes were fine b4 I changed the caliper and afterwards the brake peddle was soft. They tell me $189 to bleed and $15 bucks per tire to rotate. I said fine. My vehicle is back there for 20 minutes and the lady at the desk says you need a master cylinder because it's bad. I say no way because it was fine when I brought it in here. They said they couldn't bleed it because of the bad master cylinder. Now I'm not a mechanic but I know my way around brake pads and rotors and calipers. She had the audacity to try and tell me my brand new rear rotors were bad due to the master cylinder being bad when the rotors were only on for 20 minutes. I live 10 blocks from the the shop and drove carefully up there. I respectfully told the front desk lady that she doesn't know what she's talking about because rotors don't go bad that quick with brand new pads even if the master cylinder was bad. She insisted I'm cheap and didn't know how to change brakes and instead of trying to be cheap and save a few bucks I should have brought it to them! These were her exact words!!! We went back and forth for a minute . I never once yelled or said anything disrespectful..........until she actually told me I have to leave the shop. I said give me my change for the tire rotation and my receipt.
She said I'm not giving you your change and WE DON'T GIVE RECEIPTS FOR TIRE ROTATIONS! It was at that point I lost it! How dare you! She then went and got my $10 change and gave it to me after I had to act a fool! Took my car down the street to AMERCA MUFFLRS and BRAKES in Oak Forest. They bled my brakes and car is fine.
