Appreciate The Honesty!
I inherited my Dad's 1998 F-150. It started making a flappy noise & was due for an oil change. They found a broken manifold on the driver's side. They called to tell me & also told me the bolts were rusted. They didn't think they could do the repair without the risk of breaking those bolts... & broken bolts would mean needing to take the engine out to do the repair. Told me if I didn't mind the noise, I could probably drive it forever like that. I asked if they had a recommendation for who might be able to fix it. They said my best bet was the Ford manufacturer repair shop as they had special plates to do this kind of job.
Not sure how many other repair shops would've given me this type of advice versus just trying to fix it & going oh, oops the bolts were in worse shape than we thought... costing me way more than necessary!
& this is why I've been taking my vehicles to Interstate Tire for 3 decades or more!
