Ignored actual problem. Tried to sell me big brake job instead.
I took my truck in to get examined and serviced. There was an intense metal rattling sound coming from underneath that would kick in after driving for a while. I knew I also needed a wheel bearing replacement and some other services like oil change was needed. But I was very concerned about the loud rattling.

I got my inspection results back with over $2600 of repairs claimed needed. They said ALL my brakes need full service to be changed, my wheel bearing, fluids, and mentioned there was a rattling in the catalytic converter but did not offer a solution or what it may be or what needs fixed.

Instead they pushed for all the brake services and when I kindly asked what the rattling is about the man said “it’s rattling but it’s not hurting anything”

I clearly was concerned about this sound but seemed like these guys didn’t care or didn’t want to do it, just do the easy job and upsell some brakes. I said I may just take it somewhere else since I don’t think I can afford to do over $2600 in services just to let me Catalytic converter get worse and ignored for me to have to spend thousands in repairs later. I was met with an attitude response of “well we can give you an estimate on the catalytic converter if you want??” I just kindly said I’ll happily pay the inspection fee and move on.

Took it into a different shop and turns out my catalytic converter and wheel bearing need to be changed asap, as something was breaking apart in the cat. but my brakes all have some life in them and will eventually need to be changed but not as urgent at K&M was claiming while ignoring an actual problem. Very disappointed in this service, the front desk woman Jackie was very kind and helpful but the guys working in the back seem to not care enough. I’ll change my brakes myself and thankful I’m saving money by handling the issues I was actually concerned about.

Zoe,

I'm very sorry for the experience you had and for the response you received from the technician in the back. Normally, our technicians don't communicate directly with customers. Instead, they provide their notes to our front office, and we send those details to you by text. Jacquie or Cooper are also available to discuss the findings, answer questions, and explain the recommended repairs and pricing.

I apologize that we didn't provide you with more detailed information. We strive to communicate clearly about our recommendations, the work needed, and the associated costs.

Please feel free to reach out to me directly so we can discuss your concerns and work toward resolving any issues. I'd be happy to help.

Thank you,

Jacquie
