George,
We are sorry that you were disappointed with your most recent service visit at our business. For your benefit and as well as those who will read this review, there are some points that can be made to clarify your experience. 1. I did share with you in person in our lobby what was found under the hood during our inspection of your vehicle. These details can be added to your invoice and emailed to you if that would help. 2. The noise in the front right was checked during a test drive and the inspection in the shop and it was repaired. It was a basic repair so there was no additional charge and that is why it did not show up on your invoice. 3. You did receive 3 free oil changes in our shop. The free oil changes were based on a 5-quart system and a basic oil filter. Your engine takes 6 quarts of oil so in actuality, you should have been charged for the extra quart of oil on the first two oil changes and you were not; so you received a little extra bonus at no charge. On this third oil change, you were charged $5.00 for the sixth quart of full-synthetic oil. $5.00 is about half the retail cost in an auto parts store. I believe an objective person would agree that $5.00 for a quart of full-synthetic oil is a very good price. Regarding the Hyundai oil filter, several months ago I became aware of a Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) that recommends use of only Hyundai genuine factory oil filters in Hyundai vehicles. Our shop made the decision to follow the recommendation from this TSB. This was made known to you and you agreed to the use and additional cost for a Hyundai OE oil filter. You were charged $20.00 for the OE oil filter. For the benefit of those reading this review, I will disclose that our cost for that oil filter was $11. We purchased the oil filter at Walser Hyundai in Brooklyn Park, and we picked up the oil filter in person. I believe an objective person will conclude that $20.00 for the OE oil filter is a fair price.
Soon after I received notice of your 2-star review, I called you and left you a voicemail when there was no answer. I called you a second time and left another voicemail a few days later. Finally, you stopped by our shop to drop off a set of keys several days after my second voicemail to you. I attempted to engage you in conversation, but you were unwilling. If it would make a difference for you, I would refund the $25.00 you paid for this third oil change. Your satisfaction is worth much more than $25.00 and so I would offer a refund to you. You may call me directly or you may stop by our shop and I will be happy to provide a refund to you. Regards, Kelly Edgington
