I had 2 problems with the Cayenne recently. Firstly, The composite plastic oil filter housing had cracked, causing a slow oil leak, and needed replacement. The Porsche service/shop manual available online to mechanics quoted a repair time of 11.4 hours. Mike told me that, after looking over the procedure in the shop manual, he was sure that he could do it in significantly less time, though it would not be easy. Short of the story: he did the repair in less than 5 hours!
Had I taken the SUV to a Porsche dealer…… go figure.
Secondly, at 85,000 miles, a cracked CV joint boot had contaminated the CV joint bearings and the Axle needed replacement. This replacement was done the same day as the oil filter housing replacement. Amazingly efficient work.
