You Just Don't Treat A Customer This Way
After dealing personally with RICK at Showcase Auto & Truck, I can only speculate that any of the positive reviews given to this organization were either submitted by individuals with extremely low expectations or those with no expectations. I inquired about a used 1993 F350 4X4 listed for $26K at SA&T and spoke with RICK this past Saturday 3/14/26. He indicated it was on consignment and said he would get the additional information I was requesting and contact me Monday 3/16/26. Monday came and went with no call from RICK so I called SA&T on Tuesday 3/17/26 and once again spoke with RICK. RICK said something like 'Oh, you really are interested in this vehicle'. I guess I could understand people may inquire about a vehicle without having any intention of purchasing it. I told RICK yes I am very interested in this truck and would like additional information and pictures. Rick said he would have the vehicle moved to his location in Swansea and call me tomorrow (Wednesday 3/18/26) and about an hour after the call he even sent me a text saying he put in a request to have the vehicle moved to the Swansea location and that he would call me tomorrow, Wednesday 3/18/26. Wednesday came and went without a call from RICK so I called RICK Thursday afternoon (16:00) and he gave the typical line about how busy he was and after I asked if he really wanted to sell this truck he just said he was indifferent to it. He said the owner told him Wednesday night he no longer wanted to sell it but called him back Thursday morning saying he still wanted to sell it. I once again told him of my interest and being I am in Connecticut, about 130 miles away, RICK arranged to do a video walk around of the truck for today, Friday 3/20/26 between 11:00 - 11:30. I cleared my plate for that time frame and, you guessed it, NO CALL FROM RICK. Which brings me to the point of this review. When I first spoke to RICK this past Saturday I told him of the reviews I had read on Yelp and many were less than flattering about his organization. I read reviews prior to dealing with an organization so I can better learn about that business and what other customers have to say about them. I always read both positive and negative but pay particular attention to the negative and why they are negative. The negative reviews about SA&Tare spot on and have been reinforced by my personal experience in dealing with RICK. This company has strayed from it's past core principles of outstanding customer service. Making the customer feel special rather than a nuisance. Keeping your word when you tell a customer something rather than making excuses for why you didn't. There ARE still great companies in this country that go above and beyond for the customer. Showcase Auto & Truck no longer happens to be one of them.
