3rd Transmission Needed in 2020 Hyundai
Stephanie, who worked in service, was amazing. The only good part of my experience was her, I could tell she truly wanted to help me even when I took my frustration out on her.
Other than that, my 2 year old 2020 Hyundai Elantra just needed its third transmission. I am working with Hyundai corporate but in regards to the service performed on my car at the Williamsburg Hyundai, it was terrible. I took it there the first time my transmission broke about a year ago but it must not have been fixed correctly because it broke again a month ago. It took a little over a month for me to receive my car back, I understand that I needed to wait for parts to arrive and stuff. What really was the worst part of this whole experience was on my way home from picking up my finally fixed car, I got a flat tire on the high way. Had to put a donut on it and take it to pep boys, even though my receipt from Hyundai of Williamsburg says they checked the tires. Pep boys replaced my tire saying there had been a huge nail in there for what seemed like a while but then i must have rolled over a second, that’s when the flat happened. Now a couple days following the fixed transmission and flat tire, a second tire of mine is loosing air. I understand things can happen to tires at any moment and puncture them but my receipt of service says air was put into the tires and checked but about an hour later, I received the flat tire.
Even though my car seems to feel like it is driving better, my passenger side door now has a small dent and makes a loud popping sound when I open it.
I have learned from this experience (even talking to my tow driver and him telling me that Hyundais are the cars they tow the most for manufacture issues) that Hyundai has many problems and 80% of the workers provide terrible customer service, especially when you call Hyundai Corporate. The service done at the Williamsburg Hyundai was not properly finished. Seems rushed so now my transmission is fixed, but had to buy a new tire within an hour or two of getting my car back along with the passenger door being out of place and dented.
If you go to Williamsburg Hyundai, make sure you work with Stephanie, she really really was very helpful through all of this and she is my one positive experience.
In the end, my transmission was replaced again but am dealing with additional issues, mainly my passenger door and the loud popping sound it makes.
