Good car but not great
The R8 is a great looking car with reasonable reliability and an amazing sound. It drives well but is slightly underpowered for the V8 at least and has underwhelming acceleration. Through the turns and downshift freeway pulls are very fun but the power band seems to kick in pretty high in the rpm's. City driving is not great due to the slow transmission but if you have it in sport mode it does much better and shifts quicker. My suggestion is if you want this car I would buy the gated manual, I should have held out for it and I think you will be much happier with that decision as well as the appreciation that will come with it.
