2022 Vesloster N is problematic

I Have owned my 2022 Veloster N for a little over a month and I have already been to service twice. Luckily, Hyundai dealerships and service centers are easy to work with. However, repeated issues are concerning for any car owner.

Not Worth 35 Grand

I own a 2016 Veloster turbo. It has a good interior, leather seats, and is pretty quick for a 201 HP hatch. What sold it was being affordable. The Veloster N ditched the better leather seats for cloth, ripped out all details of unique design queues, and added EXTREMELY CHEAP plastics. The first edition of the N offered much better-looking wheels, with the current ones as a second choice higher trim. So yes, they increased the HP to 275, but the price also. This is NOT A 35-THOUSAND-dollar car. Not on a good day. You can get a Challenger, Camaro, or Mustang for under 30. They completely killed it by overcharging for a car with a better engine and a TERRIBLE INTERIOR, which is why there are hundreds of used ones online for sale. Hyundai redesigned the Elantra into a hatchet job of weird angled lines and threw in the Veloster N engine, but it will suffer the same fate. Ford did the same crap with the Focus ST and RS, outpricing it. Now VW is doing the same with the GTI. Funny how HUGE companies don't learn. Toyota will do the same with the new GR if it is priced over 30 grand.

Vehicle is great dealership not so much

Most fun for the price. I wish dealers were better. This is my second veloster and i am very happy with it. I get compliments on it all the time especially the color. The technology is super easy to use i havent had issues so far.

Okay so I don’t want to leave a review I hate that I am focrced to do a review. The car is okay I thought it would date more gas I wish I was explained the car more and was shown more option . Also wish they could of worked with my budget or give me options.

Reason for Discontinuing

The Veloster N was the revised version of the Veloster Turbo discontinued after 2017, and if you are looking to buy one, you will be horribly enlightened. The 2017 Turbo had fantastic leather seats, better designed doors with soft touch materials, and much more pleasing center console. Ironically, Hyundai removed ALL of that for some bewildering reason. The N only has cloth seats, which are impossible to keep clean compared to leather or pleather, extremely CHEAP hard plastics everywhere, and a bizarrely intruding right side ( console ) wall. Reality is reality. The entire car was redesigned, but unnecessarily. 275 HP is NOWHERE near enough to demand $ 34,000 dollars. You can get a 4 cyl Camaro for $26k,or a Mustang with over 300. Hyundai shot itself in the foot instantly pricing the N over $ 28 grand. EVERY review you read because there are hundreds of used N's online for sale, say the same thing In just did. *Like morons, Hyundia is doing the same thing to the Kona N now. It will be gone in 2 years.

Worried about reliability. Poor dealer service

I don't drive far from home because my car has a defective high pressure transmission pump. The so-called "fix" was to simply reprogram the limp mode so I can clear the roadway. Other owners report catastrophic engine failures, so I'm worried about that too. The dealership made a mess of the "free" oil change by using a low IQ mechanic who overfilled the sump and then tried to cover it up. I am disappointed with the level of competency at the dealership.

It would be great…

Everything would be perfect but I ran into an issue with the transmission and trying to get it fixed has taken so far over 8 months to try and fix. Ive tried filing a complaint. Still haven’t received a response from my first one. I’ve sent 3.

Car is a driver's car. Drives awesome but bsd system does not work. System constantly notifying false positives and false negatives. This is extremely dangerous. Neither does hill assist. Parking brake STICKS everytime I disengage it after warmup.
