Transmission problems

The transmission has inherent problems and is costly to replace or service. Fuel mileage is very good. Overall comfort is ok for short trips. Lots of room with back seats down. This is my second Versa. Mechanically not as good as the first.

Solid Basic Transportation

Inside is bigger than you'd expect. I was not surprised by the interior quality at this price point. It only has an anemic 109 hp so you can't expect big acceleration/passing power; and one needs to drive accordingly. But, I was surprised by the punch of the 109 when I really need every bit of it. I was pleasantly surprised by the lack of cvt and engine noise, overall. The gas tank is just under 11 gallons, which is smallish, but I'm getting approximately 355 miles as long as I'm not doing a lot of highway driving or using the a/c constantly. The stereo/CD combo has 4 speakers and they're average sounding. The Bluetooth connectivity works well and the back-up camera, even with the small screen, does too. Vision from the drivers cockpit is for the most part, unobstructed. The rear cargo is ample especially with the back seats folded forward. And Nissans innovative divide n hide is a neat feature. What I really like is that I can use regular "dino" oil, and avoid the overpriced scam of having to use only semi or full synthetic. (Newsflash: I've owned Nissans for the past 27 years, used dino oil and only changed it every 5,000 miles. My 2003 Altima S made it to 169,000 with NO issues.) The tires are small and the steering/suspension are by no means "tight" and limiting body roll. But then again, this is not a car you purchase to drive through slalom courses and impress your friends. If you do, you're a moron. I bought my Note used and have no regrets as I had realistic expectations. One suggestion: Change your CVT fluid every 35,000 miles or so- you'll notice better gas mileage and improved CVT performance. And, don't have it changed at the dealership; unless you want to pay twice that as say an Aamco Transmission charges.

User friendly. Good price. Interior parts are cheap

I drive this car everyday. Very user friendly. Love the stereo and speakers. The get up and go takes a little bit but still worth it for the price.

Great little car

I love my Versa Note, however, there are a few things I wish were different. In the S-Plus model the back doors do not have key holes. In order to unlock the back door, you need to open the front and reach in to unlock the back from the inside. That's super annoying and cheap. The upholstery is a magnet for dirt and dog hair! Very difficult to keep clean. Otherwise, I highly recvomend this base model. It's super roomy, the best ergonomic seats, great excelleration and fun to drive! When I have more money, I'll upgrade to a better model (cruise, power windows/locks, seat warmers, etc) I highly recommend the Versa Note Plus if you're looking for a basic car. The absolute best for the price!
