Very long term owner

Purchased my Boxster right off the show room floor. This car has been relatively problem free. Note you don’t buy a Porsche to be a low cost of ownership. You must stay on top of the service schedules And parts let’s be frank NOT LOW COST. The only problem I’m not really happy about is the power convertible top transmission system. Porsche designed the system with plastic gear within both the right & left. The gears are subjected to breaking. This is not an easy or low cost fix. I have 125,000 miles and she drives as well as when drove off the show room floor. I show note I purchased 3 months before the “S” model was introduced The car can easily handle the extra HP.

Very dependable

Car has been a dependable machine for 23 years. A few minor plastic parts have given way, and the radio and window regulator died. Other than that it has been a joy to own. I highly recommend the Boxster.

Ton of Fun

The 986 generation of Boxster while getting close to 20 years old is absolutely the most automotive fun you can have for under $10k. Right now is the best time to buy one because values are starting to rise. Buy from a PCA member who has maintained the car correctly and find a good indy Porsche mechanic. Mid engine, motorized convertible top, with that unmistakable flat 6 engine music; hard to beat!

1999 Porsche Boxster

I love the look and the feel om my Boxster. I ampleased with the way it accelerates and handles curfes, even better than my previous 911. It reminds me of my 1958 Speedster that I had for 5 years, when I was going to college at Long Beach State. Also, it' great to have a convertibel again and I love the way the top goes up & down automatically. I had to do it manually with my Speedster & my 1963 super 90.
