Best stealth off road unicorn ever made

This is not your basic soccer mom kid hauling SUV. This beast can tow over 7000 lbs. The breaks and suspension are beefed of to handle the load in all stock configurations. The AWD is designed to keep the Touareg on the road in all weather conditions and speeds. With 6 forward speeds and triptonic shifting the driver is able to have fine manual control in challenging weather or terrain. The Air suspension option allows an additional 10 inches of ground clearance to be added with the turn of a know. This allows the Touareg to ford 24 inch streams and 30 inch snow covered roads. If you happen to get stuck with these tools the Touareg gives you advanced traction controls. With the twist of another knob you can link the front and rear differentials in low gear mode. If that doesn't work you can lock the transfer case and tie all wheels and axles into a super low gear mode which will allow you to pull a 747 across a hockey rink. While there are no hardened skid plates the vehicles wheel to nose and rear geometry makes the end points safe. The air suspension should keep the undercarriage out of trouble. The downside is this is a German car. There is a great deal of engineering complexity. The hardest thing to find is a competent and honest shop to work on this amazing creation. As a performance vehicle the Touareg will not let you down. I was driving home one night from the lower Deschutes river. My girlfriend and I had fished until dark. We had a drift boat trailing behind us. The last light had faded over the western mountains. "How fast do you think we are going?" I asked. "60 to 70" She replied. "Nope, one and a quarter." I grinned. "Wow I would have never guessed. This car is amazing." Ok if you can find one of these things. Buy it! You will not be disappointed.

VW Touareg V8

I wish VW would have never stopped making the VW Touareg V8! We have 2 older VW Touareg’s and one newer VW Touareg. So, yes, 3 total and love each of them. One just celebrated the 200,000 mile mark this Summer and still working :-) our neighbors laugh over our Family of Touareg’s both would understand once experiencing the Room and Comfort of the vehicle!! Kudos VW!!
