A very good car
I have had an S-40 since 2011 and find it easy to drive, comfortable and very peppy and responsive. It is a second car an d is not driven as much especially for long distances as my S-80. The gas mileage is ok--mush better on the road --in the 25mpg range--than short distance driving--20mpg and below. The only dcesign criticism is that the gas pedal and the brake pedal are too close together--one can hit both simultaneously--this is not a safety problem since Ghent brake holds, but it is annoying.
