2012 Toyota Prius at 50,000 miles

I bought my 2012 Toyota Prius, model 3 with under 3000 miles (essentially new) and now have about 50,000 miles on it. It's been a great car so far with basically no maintenance needed other than the routine oil changes and new tires. I've loved the gas mileage and with a little modification to my route to work have been able to average about 54 mpg since purchased. I think overall the gas mileage has ranged from about 42mpg to 60mpg per tank, depending on my driving, the weather, or if I'm taking my family of five on vacation. My biggest complaint about the car is the road noise and lack of noise insulation. While the car is a lot quieter than an old economy car (like a Geo Metro, Suzuki Swift, etc), it is louder and less comfortable than the 2007 Toyota Camry Hybrid that it replaced. I'm also not a fan of the "flying buttress" that spans from high on the dashboard to the center console between the front seats because it gets in the way and cuts down on comfort.

my prius experience

have really enjoyed driving my prius the past 3 years.. it is a fun car and extremely economical to drive.

2012 Toyota Prius

The car has been totally trouble free since purchasing it brand new in September, 2012. Very reliable and gets great fuel economy, which averages around 54 MPG on the trips I use it for.

Love it love I love it

I have owned Nissans for most of my life. I decided to buy a Prius due to outrageous gas prices. It suits me to a tee, great gas mileage, good power, comfortable driving, plenty of cargo space. I love this car. Toyota has me sold. I would definitely buy another one.

2012 TOYOTA PRIUS

I purchased this vehicle new. We have taken our vehicle on several road trips. It is great on gas mileage. The is plenty of room in the cab (same size as a mid-sized sedan). It is actually better on gas driving around town. I love the fact that the steering is electric. It is so smooth and fluid. When we switch vehicles to our SUV with power steering it feels like trying to turn the steering on an old tractor when comparing the two. When you need the extra power to get up and go, it is there. It has been a great purchase, and we are very happy the vehicle and the dealership (Parker Toyota).

My Prius

About 2years ago I move from Ca. to Vancouver WA. My car Prius 2012 med. size, uwas loaded plus I had 2 large dogs traveling with me, my car took me to my new home without any problems and I used less than $65.00 in gas. Today I still going everywhere I want in town, going to Portland etc. and still feel secure, confident in my car.

I Love my Prius

From the day I purchased my Prius I have been in love with it. It is remarkably roomy inside, gets great gas mileage, handles like a dream, and the white pearl paint job is extremely easy to keep looking great. I also love the built-in GPS system.

Best car!!

I have owned many cars in my lifetime. Everything from sports to luxury. Prius is my favorite. Great gas Milage and super comfortable. I'm now on Prius #2.

I like my Toyota Prius however the visibility is poor. My next vehicle will have to have lane change warning signals as well as backing alarms.

Brand new used

This is my second Prius and I love my car. I recently had to drive a loaner car while my ac was being fixed and even though it was a Toyota Camry it did not compare to my car. The Camry cost me more in two days in gas than I use in my Prius in a month! My last prius was a second generation and I drove it for ten years before getting a 2012 prius. When I showed my car to my clients and friends they all thought I bought a new Prius, but then I tell them it's a 2012 and they are blown away. My car looks like new, drives great and is better on fuel than my last Prius. You could offer me any brand new car and I wouldn't take it unless it was a Prius!

The Prius is a great economy car

I've now had my Prius for almost five years and 73,000 miles with almost no problems. I've had it in for oil changes and replaced the tires but other than that it's been reliable and hassle free. The brakes pads still have over 50% life. The only problem I've had was a couple stripped out lug nuts and damaged studs that I attribute to the local tire shops being in a hurry during winter tire change over. It isn't the fastest car but can scoot along with traffic and speed down the freeway like any other car. Normally I take back roads to work and it averages over 50 mpg. It's still an economy car though and it doesn't have the quietest interior. My family has also grown and road trips are getting a little cramped so we'll probably be up sizing soon and giving the Prius to my oldest daughter.

Prius - Smooth, Solid, Economical

I just purchased my first Pruis, a 2012 with 86,000 miles. I have been very impressed with how smooth this vehicle runs. None of the shifting and engine noise associated with conventional vehicles. The acceleration is smooth and I only hear the engine when I am accelerating hard to enter the freeway. The ride is very solid and I do not hear or feel any creaking, clonking, or squeaking when encountering bumps in the road. The fuel economy is excellent of course, but this car doesn't feel or act at all like an econo box. The car provides very good passenger space in both the front and rear seats. The keyless operation and not having to use the key to lock or unlock the doors is also very convenient. This is a high end piece of machinery that provides excellent fuel economy. I did not expect to like the Prius this much.

Best car I ever owned. I have owned five Toyotas in my life and have never had any problems with any of them. almost all of my family drives Toyotas and they all love them. my sister has a Camry with 262000 miles on it and it is still going strong.

Reliable and Fuel Efficiency to the MAX

I have had my Prius since 2012, and have driven over 80K miles. Each mile has been a pleasure and I have take this car on trips to the Midwest, so have driven many miles over a period of a few days. It's also terrific for short trips around town! It's comfortable, great to drive, and I average 50+ mpg during warmer weather. During the colder weather, I might average around 45 mpg but never less than 43 so far in my experience. It has been reliable and cost effective. I would purchase another Prius in a heartbeat!

I love my 2012 Prius

My 2012 Prius has given me optimum service during the past 6 years. It performs beyond expections. I appreciate the time saved with fewer visits to obtain gas. It is not only that it is convenient, but also so cost effective. This vehicle is easy to drive and a pleasure at higher speeds. I also feel that I am floating along when driving at higher speeds. After all of this time have very few repairs, less than any prior cars that I have owned. This has saved me both time and money. When I consider a new car, Prius with be my first consideration.
