Garry, the manager, is all about polite reasonableness. Old school in demeanor, he sits behind his desk with his shirt and tie imbuing a rarity in car service world of sincere politeness and professionalism. This is not a here today gone tomorrow employee. What does this mean for you as you seek your car to be serviced? Like all businesses they are there to make money and sell you services… this business is no different! You will get a text stating “recommend” work some of it in red implying it’s a dangerous necessity - fact is it is not; not at all! This “upselling” is par-for-course at 90% of these places… if you don’t realize that you’ll pay for items that although “good to do” aren’t in anyway necessary. This is where Gray comes in. Inevitably you will ask… is it really necessary etcetera and Gary will say it’s good for the car and explain his reasons which all sound great… but equally, irrespective of his sales quota targets, he will also tell you whether or not what you have will suffice. Another words he is not lying… or leaving matters in ambiguity for you to make a decision (with your understandable ignorance) about the consequences. For many car repair is not your gig. They are the experts. When you pull up your rely on expertise. Gary’s expertise will be honest and accountable… now to the work… From my experience it is always always been thorough. The lifetime warranty for the work is the overriding factor for me when deciding whether or not to use a dealer on a complex job. So far, for my father-in-law’s classic F150. My mother-in-law’s Cadillac, my mother’s Mercedes, or my high performance Porsche, I found them to be very competent. I expect competence... so a 3 or 4 then… the 5 comes because in addition to the competence you get polite professionalism of the front desk.
