2011 Ford Explorer Grinding at low speeds w/burning smell
Of course when you pay off a car and let the warranty expire major problems fall in your lap. Towed the SUV to Cartex, been using them for years. They always take care of me. Highly recommend they used car inspection. They give you a full report and pictures of whatever they find. Awesome service.

Back to the Explorer. Grinding and some kind of burnt smell. When they first drove the car, Mike texted me and asked "if the car was under warranty?" 120K miles and it's almost 8 years old. I said, "no." He told me to brace myself for a huge repair, but also said he had to check it out to make sure. Basically we all thought it was a bad transmission. A price tag as high as $7K.

The next phone call came back with, "our best mechanic just reported a bad transfer case. 99.9% sure." That's a difference of $5K. The part was in stock at the dealership. I got our car back the next day. More than satisfied.

These guys are great at what they do. I always feel like they just want to take care of our cars. Price is fare and I recommend them to everyone.
