Upon test driving the car, we talked a bit about pricing. There was some initial friction during these discussions due to the online pricing not matching the actual lease price, but I do believe in this instance it was an accounting error rather than the dealer being shady. It was explained that the discount only applied for purchasing rather than leasing, and that the website wrongly took the purchase price to calculate the lease payment. Despite this issue, the overall price was only $2.5k more than that first online price, but still a massive $10k off MSRP. Needless to say I still went through with the lease at that price.
Throughout the experience Mario and Jeff were very professional and helpful, despite me being a younger guy and on my own for the sale. There was minimal pressure on me to complete the deal or add any frivolous packages, and overall it only felt slightly rushed. After signing all the papers, Mario took the time to explain to me everything about the car and addressed all initial concerns, which I appreciate very much.
Even though I had great customer service, I will admit that it felt like less of an occaison buying from a Hyundai dealership rather than a dedicated Genesis dealership. I know that sounds a bit petty, but it doesn't seem too far off from common sentiment. Again, I have zero issue with Jeff or Mario with the sale, I just wish it was at a dedicated Genesis dealer. I'm aware something is in the works from the Genesis brand to account for this, so I'm looking forward to it. In the meantime, I have no problem going back to Mario or Jeff for another sale.
Overall I'm satisfied with my sales experience and would do business with Mario, Jeff, and Genesis of Troy again.
