HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!
HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!

Now I don't want to say it was because we are people of color, buuuut if it walks and quacks like a duck then obviously its a duck or at least acting like one. Anywho, instead of typing an entire thesis on “How not to treat a Customer” I will list a few issues we had:

1. Accused of Straw Purchasing. Mind you we informed Jake multiple times its was cash purchase

2. After my brother left said establishment, Another rep called asking questions as to why we’re buying the car (dumb question) because we want too!! .SMH.. but hey, I entertained it.

3. Was told they do not except cashiers checks from navy federal credit union because they may bounce. LMBOOOOO sir it is a cashiers check not a personal check. So now we’re writing bad checks ?ANOTHER insult

4. Was told they would give us money off the sale “Nope” that did not happen

5. Called Tuesday ( mind you this foolishness started on Saturday) spoke to a manager and they were STILL talking about the Straw Purchasing / Sale ridiculousness. Are you people OK? PEOPLE OF COLOR CAN AFFORD THINGS WITHOUT FINANCING!!

6. After finally deeming our money acceptable ( and I mean that very insincerely) she informed us ( via phone) we had to have the car titled in IL even though we specifically told them it's a gift for our dad in Missouri.. A MESS!! Why argue? I would rather talk to the state and inform them because clearly these folks here don't listen very well.

Unfortunately it was so so much more, but not only am I tired of typing I also think everyone get the point. I would be remiss if I didn't mention the AMAZING sales rep Nathaniel who came to assist us after all the foolery. Thanks buddy you were great. However everyone else….. lol. Please note, not even an insincere apology was given for the accusations, insults and everything in-between.

First of all please let me apologize for your experience. Buying a car should be a fun and easy process and I sincerely apologize that it wasn't for you. Second, I assure you that none of your experience was related to your race. We treat all of our customers and employees the same regardless of race, age, gender, or sexuality. The policies that you are referring to apply to all customers. We do not accept cashier's checks from out of the area. I understand that people think they are as good as cash but that just isn't the case. A cashier's check can be faked and we have had this happen in the past. We wish we could make things like this easier but when you get burned a few times you have to put polices and procedures in place to protect yourself. So, in order to avoid an discriminatory practices you have to policies in place that you follow regardless of who the customer is our how much you believe they are being honest. So, again, this policy has nothing to do with you personally. As far as the title issue, we certainly could have attempted to make that easier on you, however, we do have to follow the law and you are not allowed to title a vehicle in a state that you do not live in. So, we could have worked with you to find a better solution or put the title in your Dad's name so that it could be titled in Missouri. Our team certainly should have tried a little harder to help make that easier on you within the limits of the law. We take our reviews seriously and will review this with our team to try and make sure we handle a situation like this smoother in the future.
