Tire Swap and Oil Change: Very quick service at fair prices.
Had tires swapped and an oil change. Service was quick. After a mix up with the bill, which the dealership quickly fixed, I was happy with the charges and the service. They are very efficient and do good work.

Service Encounter
I own a 2017 Hyundai Ioniq hybrid, purchased from Hyundai Newport in JUL2018. I don't drive it much, and it currently has about 5500 miles, including previous use by Hundai. It stays parked in an uncovered driveway.

Several weeks ago, it started making a cyclical leathery creaking noise that increased with the speed of the car. I brought it to the service department on 3/18 and was told that parts of the rear brakes were contacting each other when the wheel rotated. The rear brakes were cleaned and adjusted. The car still made the same sound when I drove away, although maybe not as loud.

The noise was worse the next time I drove it, and I brought it back on 4/1. The service rep showed me the brake rotor and said I needed to drive the car more on the highway. I expressed my frustration that I have a car that is rusting if I don't drive it on a highway frequently, especially since I have no other reason to do that . He corrects me and says it's not rust, it's oxidation. We have a brief conversation where I tell him that oxidation and rust are the same thing, that oxidation on the car is rust which is the same thing as corrosion and damage to the car. He continues to say oxidation is different; I offer to google the terms to clarify what oxidation and rust are, to which he says no. He does offer an explanation that a lot of the new vehicles there have "oxidation" on their brakes and offers to show me this, which only makes me think that purchasing a Hyundai is not a good decision.

I'm frustrated at this point, more than I should be, which attracts the attention of the manager. He basically says the same thing as the other service rep about the car. He does offer to grind off the rust. This fixes the noise.

It's a two star review because:
- Took 2 service appointments to fix the problem.
- It's a fairly new car that had enough rust build up in basically 9 months to the point that the wheels can't rotate without contacting the rust. I have no faith in this car holding up in the future.
- Being talked down to by a service rep who knows a fancy-sounding work like oxidation and thinks he can fool customers by using it. He is probably smart encough to know that oxidation on a car and rust are the same thing, so he is just lying when he says they are not. I would not trust this guy to tell me anything.
- The manager, Paul, did go well out of his way to defuse the situation and fix the problem. Otherwise, the review would be one star.

Lastly, just FYI, the car is sitting at about 32 mpg after driving if for about a quarter tank since the last fill. So at least in New England winter temperatures this hybrid doe not get close to the estimated mileage in the mid/high 50's.
