Hi Alan, you may remember me, I'm the customer that suggested an easier way of making appointments and you were kind enough to advise me to use your service advisor. That is the good part.
After my oil change, I called you about the car still being very wet with so many drops of water on my rear view mirrors that I had to stop and wipe them off. That was no big deal, stuff happens and I'm sure the tech was just in a hurry.
What was very disappointing was the estimate of repairs needed where one was an outright lie. The recommended engine air filter for $34 that is still brand new! (I can send a photo if needed)
The brake and transmission fluids were considered to still be in good condition by the shop that I had do the work needed.
I realize that a dealership may go by mileage and would recommend these things on that basis alone but times are tough and if repairs that are marginally needed can wait, they should. It may be your policy but It's not like I won't be back in six months to get another oil change, where a tech can show me the fluid on the stick and use a color graph to compare.
The worrisome thing now is how do I know you folks are using the correct oil type, amount etc? Am I truly having a new oil filter replaced?
Trust is everything in the business world.
Mr. Walker could have walked out with me to see if the car was appropriately dried and should have explained each item listed needing to be addressed for repairs and could have then possibly explained that the dealership is going by recommended mileage, not actual immediate need.
I would like to have an alternate service advisor, Mr. Walker is a nice man but lacks a little professionalism.
I hope you understand my concerns on misrepresenting parts needing replacement even if it's a cheap $34 engine air filter.
That is not good customer service.
Attached is a copy of the repair recommendations. I replace my own cabin filters. Thank you!
