Battery already died 3 times since purchase in Dec 2025
This is my first Hyundai that we’ve owned. We usually go for Honda, Toyota, or Lexus. I traded in my 2015 Lexus for a 2026 Hyundai Tucson and it has already been littered with issues from before I even drove the car off the lot. Upon final inspection, I noted that there was a piece of sharp fabric sticking out to which the dealership trimmed off and now the thread is fraying. To replace it, they have to wait on a back ordered part since December. The passenger window also lets in an excessive amount of noise when going above 50 mph as verified with the manager at the dealership. Also have been waiting on a back ordered part since January. The most egregious is the car battery. It died in February out of nowhere. We only drive this car maybe 3 times a week to run local errands. There is no reason it should have died. They replaced the battery. Then it died again recently (less than 2 months later). And they simply recharged it and said they don’t know what’s wrong but “it holds a charge” after having it in the shop for about a week. I drive the car home, and the next day, I go to start it up. Guess what? It’s dead again. So it’s back in the shop now and they can’t provide me with a loaner because there’s a waitlist due to all the Santa Fe recalls. I am appalled at the quality of the cars. I had heard Hyundai has improved and made great strides in recent years, so I took a chance and now I regret it. If I don’t get a satisfactory solution to these incessant issues on a brand new car with less than 3k miles on it, I will be trading it in and eat the loss just to be rid of it.
