Love my new car
I downsized from a van to this SUV after the kids were grown. Nice to be back in a smaller, easier to handle vehicle. This body style is sexy instead of boxy like all the other SUV models, but I understand Hyundai is changing to the boxy style like other manufacturers in 2027. So sad! Going from a keyed vehicle with power doors and windows, to everything being automated, is cumbersome. It has taken much more of my time to learn how to use the features in a new car, and there are still some I think are crazy and unsafe. Hate the fact the doors lock after I drive off instead of as soon as vehicle is put in gear; so, I lock my doors manually as soon as I get in. It also, does not allow a single woman to unlock just her driver's door when traveling alone; another safety concern. Not carrying keys may seem nice, but now I don't have keys or the alarm in my hand walking to my car; not carrying keys, with an alarm, takes away a safety feature walking to a car, that we were all taught as young women. And don't get me started on the issues with the electronics, that I used until they got on my nerves & then deactivate most of these "features" or "bells & whistles". Even the salesmen on lots turn off the lane correct; before a test drive; and in their own vehicles! The GPS cuts out the radio every time she speaks; love the GPS screen, just don't like it fading my music in and out. The blind spot feature is great, until you are entering a highway from a ramp & it detects the cars 2 lane over; hell, now I'm looking for a car that's NOT there, I saw the one two lanes over! My husband cannot lock the doors using the inside button when he drives and I'm the passenger because I walk away quicker; same way, he can't unlock it when he gets to his door first, even if I'm at the passenger door; saw this with a sick brother, he couldn't get in the passenger side to sit down because his wife had the fob in her purse; aggravating at best, and no man wants this huge egg in his pocket when it's not even his car! And a car cutting off my AC on a hot day because I stop at a light, is just rude behavior; so, I have to override it! And the engine stopping at a light, feels like a jolt when someone hits/taps your bumper/makes me check my rearview mirror still, every time! And for crying out loud, put a drop-down cup holder in the back of that huge center console in back floorboard; water bottles leak when leaned sideways and run down the speaker in the door; 2 in front console is NOT enough for 2 people; and for back seat passengers, the cup holder in the pull down center seat are a joke; not big enough for most drinking vessels. I love some features; the wide-angle backup camera, the power hatch, the gas cap; just would like some options to be fixed in the future. On a good path, just rolled out before they were refined.
