This place will rob you even with an extended warranty. DO NOT BUY OR SERVICE HERE!
We have been asking Lia Hyundai of Albany to fix an Idle Stop-and-Go function on my 2019 Sante Fe since mid-2021. Every time we called, we were told there was no time... short-staffed due to COVID, construction in the service department, etc. Yesterday they finally found the time to look at the function that has not worked since six months after purchasing the car. Despite having purchased the expensive bumper-to-bumper extended warranty, they came back and said the stop-and-go feature is malfunctioning due to low battery function. The battery does NOT need to be replaced; it's just hasn't been strong enough to power this function since months after we bought the car, apparently. Turns out this is a common issue with 2019 Santa Fe, BUT they are telling us not only is the repair not covered by our warranty but neither is the diagnostic to figure out what is wrong with the car's stop-and-go system. On top of that, when my husband and I expressed outrage over the fact they refused to look at this issue multiple times in the past, we were told they "had no record of that," implying that we are liars. (FWIW, when we went in yesterday, they also didn't have a note on file that I had asked for this feature to be checked this week, so I guess they never make notes so they an always claim ignorance.) Every time I walk into their service department they upsell me on everything from oil to air filters, which I happily pay through the nose for in order to keep them happy and protect my warranty. Obviously they never have any intention of honoring the warranty. Do not EVER use this dealership or this repair service. They would have received 0 stars if it was possible. I love my Hyundai as a car, but I will never buy a Hyundai again after this experience.
