After talking with the tech and service advisor, it was certainly an error on our behalf that we did not provide you with an accurate quote for the job. To remove/replace the oil pan on a V8 Explorer, we had to remove many parts of your vehicle, totaling to just under 7 hours of labor. To answer your question, there was not any type of oil leak occuring from the plug. However, the plug would not have been able to tighten back into the oil pan once it was removed (for the standard oil change) due to it being frayed/stripped. I understand your frustration and disappointment and would be happy to do a complimentary oil change on your vehicle in the future for the oversight. Please contact us at any time about this.
