Great Service Once Again
I take my 2016 Volvo XC90 to Peter's for two reasons; 1-they are Volvo experts and 2-they are a five minute walk from my office. But convenience isn't enough if the shop isn't trustworthy and the work isn't good. Fortunately Peter's is great on both counts.
While this visit was just an oil change and tire rotation, with 125k miles on the car, it needs maintenance as parts wear out. In this case, the timing belt was cracking and Peter's recommended it be replaced. While Volvo says the timing belt can go up to 150k, Peter's is seeing them go as quickly as 80k and that insight is what any customer needs to make an informed decision. In my case, once the belt was off and replaced, it was clear the crack in the belt would have broken in the near future and having a damaged engine block due to a broken timing belt is four times as expensive as just the belt.
Good service isn't cheap but good advice helps keep costs down by avoiding worse problems from happening.
