3 hrs after very $$ repair, same problem occured/no recourse
I spent over $1,300 to have my car repaired after it overheated (first time in the 10 years I’ve owned it).
I drove 100 miles to go home and the car overheated again before the motor died.
A few days later, still in shock, I called Prestige and was told that if I had my car towed back to the garage (100 miles at my own expense?!) it would be looked at but the conclusion of the owner of the garage was that what had happened was due to my own negligence for not stopping when the car overheated, before it was too late.
Why does one go to a specialist rather than fix the problem oneself? Because the specialist is thought to heave expertise that one doesn’t have!
If I could have figured out that after having my car repaired and being charged a substantial amount of money it was not a good idea to drive it home, I would not have done so!
After I called a second time to contest the bad repair and charge, I was told that the car was not necessarily ready when I picked it up but because I had expressed that I wanted to go home as soon as possible. But, I was called and told, “your car is ready"!
Since I am not a mechanic, I will never know how my car was repaired and what happened but when it comes to communicating with a client, I can say with absolute confidence that Prestige failed.
Had I been told that the mechanic thought that the car was not ready and needed more test driving, I would never have risked losing the only car I had.
