On September 22, 2024 my fiancé and I purchased a Dodge Ram from Route 146 Auto Sales located on 1097 Eddie Dowling Hwy, North Smithfield, RI 02896. In negotiations the owner of the business, Joe LaVornia told us the Dodge Ram had zero rot on the truck and that he had just placed the brand new fender flares on the vehicle to pass Rhode Island Inspection. We bought the Dodge Ram with a 3 year warranty. In October, one month after purchasing the Dodge Ram, the check engine light came on for a cylinder 2 misfire. We took the vehicle in to be serviced, the vehicle was returned to us with the check engine light off. Between the months of October 2024 and April of 2025, several other issues with the vehicle came to light. The cab was filling up with water due to a leak in the cab vents, the fender flares that Route 146 placed on the vehicle were removed and revealed several rotted out areas of the fenders. In the week of 4/6/2025 the check engine light came back on for the cylinder 2 misfire. When we returned the vehicle back to 146 Auto to have the issue resolved, Joe was told of the other issues with the cab leaking water. We asked Joe if there was any way he could also fix the fenders, as he lied about the rot originally. He stated "I'll see what I can do."
The vehicle was at 146 Auto from 4/12/2025 until 05/07/2025. On 5/7/2025 we went to 146 Auto to pick up the vehicle. Not only did they not fix the cab vents to rectify the water leaking into the cab, but they destroyed the fenders and the front bumper on the truck. 146 auto decided to start fixing the fenders by grinding the rot down to bare steel, and then decided they weren't going to fix them. The condition of the fenders are worse now than when we dropped the vehicle off as they grounded them down to bare steel. 146 auto also destroyed the front bumper while it was off the vehicle receiving engine work. There are several gouge marks on the front bumper as well as a brand new hole in the bumper that wasn't there when the vehicle was dropped off. Now the fenders need to be replaced immediately due to bare steel showing, and the truck needs a new front bumper. Joe became very irate and unreasonable when the issues were addressed. He started screaming stating that the bumper was in that condition when the vehicle was dropped off. When he was addressed about the condition of fenders being worse now then we dropped it off he became extremely irate and threatened to report the rental vehicle that we were provided stolen unless we came and picked the unfinished damaged truck up
