2007 Escalade Base model

Reviewed typical issues before buying this motor and found the usual issues of leaking OEM transmission cooler lines. with 150k on the clocks I sent it straight into the service shop for full service, including transmission oil, Differential oil and everything else with 150k service. Being alaska I added a second battery under the hood and did have to replace a failing alternator and starter motor. For the most part anyone can pop the hood and work on these thanks to youtube and I love this motor for this reason. So like any older SUV they all demand some attention but you fix most issues yourself. Door handles are cheap plastic (why!) which will break and need replacing but they are very cheap and it’s a DIY fix. Stereos also are known to fail and mine needs attention. All of this said I’m certain i’ll get plenty of solid mileage and it’s a clean auto which I love to own.

Escalade

This is not the car I expected it to be. For the money, I would have been better served with a foreign SUV. Cadilac better step it up or lose more customers. Looks like Lincoln is stepping it up maybe that will be my next SUV.

Lutter's battery replacement time.

Many small, inconvenient "fixes needed", sensors, electrical (door locks, airbags, stability, etc). I also noted ,while waiting and reading consumer reports, they suggest that you stay away from 2007&2008 Escalades. They also report that Escalades themselves are not reliable. I have enjoyed the comfort provided by my Escalade on longer drives.

Love all but the door handles

Beautiful car but plastic studs for door handles keep breaking.
