Fantastic experience as a new EV owner

We have been considering buying an electric vehicle for sometime, but never felt that the infrastructure in our area would support it. We were also very unsure about whether the charge time was going to make owning the vehicle a pain in the neck. When we saw the Ioniq 5 and the excellent ratings, it has gotten and fast charge times we decided to test drive one. It is so much fun to drive and we took the plunge. We live in Northwest Montana, where there are hardly any charge stations and actually there are no fast 350kw or faster stations. We have been very pleasantly surprised that owning the Ionic 5 has been absolutely seamless. We already had a 50 amp circuit in our garage for running welders and other equipment and with the Grizzl-e charge station we bought charging has been absolutely no problem. We can take the car and run errands in the Flathead Valley all day and come back, plug it in, and within a couple hours we’re charged back up to where we usually keep it at 80%. If we’re going on a longer trip we will charge it to 90 or 100% which is all customizable in the electronic menus in the vehicle. I frequently drive 150 miles to Missoula for work and the complementary 30 minute session (comes with the Ioniq 5 for a two year period after purchase) at Electrify America in Missoula charges back everything that I use traveling 150 miles. The quiet ride and incredibly fast acceleration and torque of the vehicle make it the most fun car to drive I have ever owned. We live at the top of an icy hill in Montana and the all wheel drive has been great on snow and ice no problems getting up the hill.

Funest car to drive.

Ignoring all the publications and reviews, this is truly a very fun car to own, operate and drive. it's roomy, performant, comfortable, great in the rain (since it's AWD), has plenty of features. What it's missing are: 1) Rear window wiper 2) Memory seats 3) 360 camera view 4) Rear climate control 5) Bluetooth Apple CarPlay.

Hyundai Ioniq is a GREAT choice!

Our first EV and it was clearly a wise choice. The vehicle is built really well, very solid to drive and performs exceptionally well. It feels safe, is reliable and extremely comfortable to drive. We have only begun to understand and incorporate all of the features provided. A great choice.

Great Car With LOTS of STORAGE!

Replaced a hybrid with this car. It exceeds all my expectations! I got the Limited version and am so very glad I did. The center console lifts UP so that I can put my purse underneath it. It actually has a place to be now and won't roll off the seat or have to be put in the back anymore. I also have a place for a square kleenex box, as well as an actual car trash bin! And the glove compartment is so deep I can put a small roll of paper towels in it length wise! There's a space under the hood for the charging cable, and under the floor in the cargo area, there's room for a first Aid kit as well as an emergency tool kit! And there's still room for more. All this and I haven't even begun to say how wonderful it is to drive. You can see forever in this car with the 360° cameras and the tilting side view mirrors. Very comfortable and roomy inside as well.

Well built vehicle

Great machine. Well designed and a well built car. The power passenger seat is very good and comfortable for longer periods in the car. Very good sound system. Navigating between screens reasonably easy. Would buy again!

I purchased the Hyundai Ioniq 5 SEL. I’m very happy with my purchase. The vehicle is very fun to drive and the build quality is excellent. I really like the interior as well. The SEL gives good bang for your buck.

Excellent EV

The ioniq5 has plenty of cargo room. Front seats are comfortable and there is more than enough leg and head room for tall drivers. Range is good and the heat pump heat system really helps to not lose range in the winter. Performance is good, no traction issues with the dual motor option.

I was researching cars for months and when I came across the Ioniq 5, I was blown away. It's got some amazing bells and whistles (my last car was from 2011) that make it a joy to drive. The interior lighting is one of my fave custom features.

Such a great EV, Hyundai hit the ball out of the park with this car. I have another EV and love this Hyundai for the value and equipment at such a reasonable price point. I’d love to see the Palisade in and EV. That would be my next purchase.

Love it.

Researched this car for over a year, pulled the trigger and absolutely love it. While there are a few minor issues I've encountered, they pale in comparison to the overall quality of the vehicle. So much fun to drive.

Excellent but

Excellent vehicle. However only problem there is no spare tire. There is no rear wiper and washer. Maybe wouldn't hurt to get more mileage on a full charge. Maybe add hard drive function to record video of people pr things coming near car while parked. Tesla does that. Capture hit and run of your vehicle

Wonderful Car, Just a Few Missing Features

We test drove several cars that compete with the Ioniq 5 - the Tesla Model Y, Nissan Arriya, and Volkswagen ID.4. Tie Ioniq is by far the most comfortable of all the cars we tested. It's responsiveness and handling are excellent (as are all of the cars in it's class). My only complaint is there is no rear wiper, and inexcusable omission on a car in this price range.

Amazing ride, that looks like a spaceship!

I’m a very happy owner of a 2023 Ioniq5 AWD Limited. Quiet, smooth ride. High quality, fit and finish. All the bells and whistles that anyone would want! I am happy that I have made the transition to living the electric car lifestyle!

Totally in love!

The Ioniq 5 is perfect for me: what I expect is great mileage and range, great comfort, quick acceleration and great looks. The car ticks all of these boxes. Can't speak for durability yet as I've owned the car only for a month, but so far so good.

Quick, stylish, fun.

My main quibble is a vehicle over $50000 should have a rear wiper. And a moonroof. Other than that, this is an awesome car. Friends have ooh-ed and aah-ed over its looks and design, and I never worry about being able to get up to speed quickly enough.

Great car.

Love this car. Very comfortable. Lots of room. Fit and finish is great, doors are very impressive. Drives great. The instant torque provides amazing acceleration. The smart cruise control works great. So many bells and whistles, still learning about them all.

Solid car, performs as advertised.

While I waited a fairly long time to get the vehicle - pandemic and supply chain issues - the vehicle was worth the wait. It performs as well as advertised. And the benefit of the wait was that many of the updates and production improvements were built into the car and did not need to be addressed by the dealership. The car delivers on the promise of EV's as reliable daily transportation and with increasing access to DC fast chargers will be a reliable cross-country vehicle as well.

great quality, a good first experience with an electric

I live in a fairly rural state. Outside of charging at home, there are few options for charging when traveling city to city, in any direction. We have no CCS chargers with a capacity greater than 62 kW and the use of Tesla chargers is not possible at this time. That said, this is a local car until the charger situation improves. I bought the Ioniq 5 based on the great reviews, mostly by owners on Youtube. The styling is great and unique, much better than Tesla. Also, since Hyundai is a major auto manufacturer, I expected the quality to be good and have not been disappointed. Specific features of the vehicle could be better but the issues I have noted, not listed here, are not show stoppers. For a relatively early iteration of an electric car, this is a great car to own (so far).

I have been very satisfied. We really love the Ioniq 5. We knew we wanted an EV, and had driven several. The Ioniq 5 topped out list. It drives well, has great range, and is very comfortable. We recommend it highy.
