Everyone should drive this car before judging Electric cars

Love my car. it’s pretty, it’s fun to drive, it has a 10yr 100k mile warranty. It has power. It doubles as a rocket. It’s great rain, snow or sun. Breaks great to0.

This is the car of the year?

Overpriced. Picked the limited because of the package. This isn't AWD, our daughter's FWD does much better in the winter. Doesn't get the miles as advertised. Set up for two different drivers--always have to reset because the memory doesn't keep radio stations, seat configuration. Mirrors do not always fold in (or out). Seat does not always move up (or back) when you open the door. Driver's seat stopped working ... went as far back as possible, wife couldn't even reach the pedals. Had to replace the wiring harness with less than 15,000 miles--took us 4 days to get the dealer to agree to give us a loaner. 12v went bad with less than 22,000--had to have the car towed. If this is the car of the year, Hyundai either has dirt on the judges or paid them off.

I had a recall that took 5 months to fix which meant almost 1/4 of my lease was used up without me driving. There was no rear windshield wiper which made it hard to see

Car drives great, but fit and finish is lacking

Great looking car that drives well. But the dashboard is badly laid out, and lots of little things feel like they were never adequately tested.

I love my 2024 Ioniq 5!

I bought my 2024 Ioniq 5 because I wanted to be able to travel across the country in an electric car that had the range and charge time that closely matched a gas powered car. I was not disappointed. I've traveled to Kentucky, Pennsylvania and Kansas with no issues, quick charging speeds and longer than expected range. The V2L feature has been invaluable during power outages, especially the time a hurricane knocked out our power for 10 days. Plus, the comfort and space makes its even more enjoyable.

It is possibly the best leased car I have had for city driving. If the futuristic a solid state battery with 500+ mile range, it would be the best choice for all driving situations.

Great car,.and still some wrinkles to iron out

To start, my wife simply loves the car. I like it a lot and wish some oddities were addressed with software updates. Last week I was driving along and started to feel hot, looked at the temp setting and it was at 82. I did not increase it and checked with my wife whether she had and she hadn't. I've walked up to the rear of the car occasionally and the hatch would open. Not every time, so this doesn't appear to be a "feature". Sometimes when either of us select our own custom configuration it doesn't adjust the seats and when viewing the person selected it's the other even though we've selected our own. We have the 2024 model so connectivity is only via cable. So, I bought an adapter. If it is left plugged in, the USB remains powered. I'd.expectmat least a setting to decide whether we want it on our off. I've started unplugging it and only plugging it in when I want it. Oh, yet then recently my wife's phone started playing though the adapter isn't plugged in. Apparently iphones connect to a 2024 and androids don't. We are leading and received the free leasing for 2 years. This opportunity makes the car nearly priceless. To replace the EV with anything else when the lease is over will require upgrading our load panel on the house. This will cost $5-6K. Our lease ends at the same time as the free charging. I am reviewing other makes and models. It is possible that we'll get a newer upgrading ioniq5, yet not 100% certain. It depends on economics and features. Because we shouldn't run the battery down too far or charge to full, the range isn't really as advertised. Who would want to plug in with a nest empty battery (ignoring the impact on the battery), community chargers (or at least Charge America) slow down at 80% so going further takes a long time All good for thought, with all of the critical analysis details above, the ioniq5 is still in the running when our lease runs out. And my wife loves the car!
