it's a nice car but it lacks a rear windshield wiper and the sideview mirrors should be retractable from inside the car

I decided to lease the vehicle when they were offering the great incentives. I like the car but won’t be keeping it after my lease is up.

Sporty, smooth, quick and quiet

I love owning an electric vehicle and not contributing to destruction of our environment with another gas guzzling vehicle. I would rate this car a 5 if it weren’t for the matte finish paint which doesn’t allow me to go through a car wash. I am 73 years old and hate that I need to buy expensive cleaner and wash it myself. I also wish the trunk wasn’t so small. I took it on my first road trip. When I first got the car, a full charge said over 300 miles. This road trip was 133 miles and I only had 60 miles left when I arrived at my destination! I also have arthritis in my hands and sometimes have difficulty plugging the charger in & taking it out if I am not close enough to the charger. I get compliments all the time on how the car looks. I love the pick up when pulling onto a highway. At times I drive to fast since it is so smooth and I don’t realize how fast I’m going.

Comfortable and Powerful

The only 2 negatives. Almost got stranded without keys! Car should NOT be able to drive unless keys are INSIDE car!! Left keys on top of car by mistake. Drove 150 miles home. If I would have stopped anywhere on the way i would’ve been stranded! Please fix!!!

We have been very pleased with our 2024 Hyundai Ionic 5. Very comfortable - and easy - car to drive. Roomy and quiet. Very fast charge on DC fast-charge, so great for longer trips.

Ioniq 5 review

Overall, it's a great vehicle. You should consider more of a Tesla model for software and provide more updates and even new features over time. CarKey (with iPhone support) for example should be backwards compatible with my car but isn't offered. Also, please try and simply the UI. You need to group setting under fewer icons/categories. There are just WAY too many now and some overlap (ie. the setting could be under either).

Comfortable, fun to drive, but...

For the most part our Ioniq 5 is very comfortable, fun to drive and torque/speed is impressive! Since we splurged and went with the Limited trim, it has all the bells and whistles that offers all the luxuries/features that the other trims leave out. The "but..." in the title defines some of the loss of trust in reliability, due to the ICCU failure we experienced that left us stranded.

Great car, but poorly designed

The vehicle’s power, responsiveness, and handling are beyond great, but the user interface is poorly and, may I say, dangerously designed. If you want to change the temperature or fan speed, etc. while driving, you must look away from the road and at the console, because the touch-sensitive “buttons” are very close to one another, and it’s unfortunately easy to inadvertently turn or adjust something else instead of what you need. And (this is really a design flaw) to turn heat/ac on or off, you must open the climate interface screen and physically turn it on or off. Try doing that with your eyes on the road where they belong. For some reason the people who design these things think touch-sensitive is some kind of advantage, but it isn’t in this type of situation, it is dangerous!
