Almost Great

Software really lets this car down. The app is too often unusable and lacks simple features like remote heated seats or internal temperature. Notifications from the app are usually useless. The car’s internal software is wholly inadequate for the greatness of the hardware. Route planning has improved but is still not good enough. Forcing drivers to chargers at over 20-percent battery is just dumb. And, simple additions like allowing the steering wheel star button to be programmed to the Warmer button would be an amazing improvement. And, manual preconditioning is a most. Plus, the car sticker said I could use my phone as a key, but there’s still no iPhone support which is false advertising. Plus, why not auto locking?!

Good but not great

1. User interface isnt well optimized. Radio button is buried in, why have map and navigation button into one. 2. Sub par audio 3. Sub par miles range. It barely goes to 230 miles 4. Customer service is horrible. No one ever responds 5. No heated seats in the back 6. No seat memory

Absolutely comfortable to drive and the best car I’ve ever owned.

This car is something I only dreamed of getting as an EV and it turns out, it fits perfectly into our lives. From long distance driving, to short work commuting, this car can and has continued to be amazing to drive and ride in. So much so, that it’s become our only vehicle, since I work from home. It’s not perfect, with the lack of rear windscreen wiper and wishing for more lumbar support, but overall, it’s a great car.

Some flaws

Back cam useless in wet weather, Needs rear wiper, difficult to use touch screen for heat, AC, etc. No tactile sensation. Mileage range off by 30%. dealer has no explanation. attempetd to swith to another consumer affairs case manager. The manager, Lamont, said no. 4 alignments in 13 months

Love my car, but it has,some rear door rattlkng. Need to schedile fir fixing. Please, try adding windshield wiper for rear foor.

Hard on the eyes

Difficult to read some dashboard screen when sun is shining on it. You have to take your eyes off the road too long to be safely able to read the screen and drive.

Great EV

Overall I think the Ioniq 5 is a great EV. It is quiet, comfortable, has a lot of trunks space, great rear seat room and a lot of zip. It feels wider and more awkward to park than my Kona EV. The rear window gets dirty and has no wiper to clean it and the front wipers are not effective at cleaning off bugs. I'm also not a fan of how dried raindrops show on the paint.

Awesome electric vehicle!

This car is great. We are currently leasing it for 2 years and have had it for about a year. We haven't had any problems with it and love all of the features it comes with. Especially the cruise control, Ipedal and lane assist.

Fun to drive

I am generally quite pleased with this vehicle. I find the design details impressive and well thought out. I love the color, digital teal, and am pleasantly surprised at how the color shifts in different light conditions. If I could change anything, I would add a rear window windshield wiper.

Great ride with just about everything you need in a vehicle

Love this car. Smooth ride and crazy fast charging. Dashboard laid out intelligently except for no center console. Seats are very comfortable and material is surprisingly easy to keep clean. Trunk is the perfect size.

Needs a rear wiper

Fun to drive, very intuitive. Surprisingly larger in the inside than expected. Love that they actually used buttons instead of touchscreens for most things. My only real complaint is that there is no rear wiper. Built in cameras would also really be appreciated.

I moved from a Tesla Model Y to my IONIQ 5 and have no regrets!

In early 2025 my wife told me she would never again ride in my Tesla Y, which would make my life kind of difficult. I started searching for another EV and a friend let me drive his IONIQ 5. I was impressed by the power, the comfort of the ride and the roominess of the interior. I also like the fact there are physical buttons for volume and temperature control. You don't have to call up a screen to make adjustments! Unlike the Tesla I'm able to use Apple CarPlay, which I really missed having. There are a few minor annoyances: 1) There is no onboard video recording system, which is really important and makes no sense because the cameras are already there. Fortunately there are some good aftermarket systems. 2) You have to adjust regenerative control with each drive– you can't set it up in the driver profile. 3) And there is no "walk away" locking mechanism. When you park the car and walk away the door handles remain in the "open" position advertising the car is unlocked. You MUST remember to lock the car with the remote every time! At least the Hyundai app will nag you later to lock the doors remotely. By the way, the review template requires input for "reliability." I've only had the car for two months!

Love my car

I have no complaints expect the parasitic drain and the iccu. Everything else about it is impeccable. I would not drive any other EV. I think the ICcU problem should be fixed and I think the Tesla adapter should come more quickly.

Best car I ever had

Wins everything: confort, range, Technology, charges fast, looks good, so smooth. The color is something! It depends the angle the color looks green or gray. The whole glass roof is very nice too. It moves out of tight parking spaces. Like c'mon.
