Great but for 1 thing

Its quite good but there is no way to transport a bike without installing my own hitch on a car i dont own. It should come with a hitch so i could put my bike rack on it. Its forcing me to consider other cars

Not bad, but definitely could be better!

I dislike a charge will run down faster if it was super cold or super hot outside also did not like that. It did not have the back windshield wiper.

Hyundai customer service makes car not worth it

When my new 2026 IONIQ 5 arrived there was a problem with a dash speaker. After several weeks on line, on google, and on the phone we were unable to figure out what was wrong, customer service asked me to take the car to my local Hyundai dealership. Even though I was leasing a e vehicle, I was given a gas loaner,(during the most expensive gas prices in history) on top of that the car was small for my size and the outside was filthy. After 2 weeks of unsuccessful repairs, I started to ask about simply swapping the broken car for one that works, customer service told me to familiarize myself with my state’s lemon law, that gave them 30 days to repair any issues. Still had to make my lease payment, had to pay for gas, and was limited to 100 miles driving per week on my loaner. They figured out on day 29, no money off, nothing for my trouble for a issue I had nothing to do with.

Really amazing car with very minor nits

Overall, I've enjoyed my 1st year with the Ionic. It provides great performance, comfort, convenience, and cost-efficiency. I'll provide highlights of each- Performance: Acceleration is impressive for special situations and fun. Comfort: The comfortable seats, high roof and light interior, makes the car very comfortable. Back seat passengers also never complain. Convenience- the folding seats and large trunk make the car versatile. The AWD worked great when we drove in snow too. Finally, the electric vehicle is quite cost-effective given higher gas prices. The range works well for my needs too. My minor complaints: No USB C connector (newer models have it), accessing Climate screen is a bit annoying (newer versions have special buttons), software beeps when I am near objects at front of car even if I am backing up, one can hear the wind when driving at freeway speeds, and, finally the turning ratio is surprisingly quite wide.

Decent car but overpriced

I leashed this car wit less diligence than usual. I wish I’d realized some of its drawbacks, like appallingly bad ventilation in the back and lack of a rear window wiper causing buildup under the spoiler. I usually buy European vehicles and to me, this one has seemed less well made with sporadic issues in the onboard computer.

Great to drive, lots of EV issues

The car has a fun sporty feel to it. However I've had 2 significant problems with the EV aspects. The ICCU went out and had to be replaced. And now the EV battery stopped working and needs to be replaced. Getting the ICCU replaced took 1 month. I'm in the middle of the EV battery replacement and it is 2 months and counting.

2 yrs 50k Love this car

Of the more than 35 cars I have owned over the years the ‘24 Hyundai Ioniq 5 tops the list as my #1 favorite replacing the #2 96’ Toyota Supra. And #3 ‘77 Dodge Volare. It is fun to drive very fast and handles very well. The only complaint I have with mine is the center console setup and lack of rear wiper which both were updated in the ‘25 model

Not having wireless Apple play is bananas

Car is great overall, but having to connect apply play with a wire is silly and not modern. This should be a standard feature, especially in a well equipped car.

The Worst Car Ownership Experience of My Life

I had one good month with this vehicle. Since then it's been over two years of issues and Hyundai wasting my time. The issues started with a bad ICCU, and that has damaged the 12 volt battery and the main carriage battery. ICCU and 12v battery have been replaced. Main carriage battery is still not working properly but Hyundai techs can't figure out why I've lost 100 miles of range in two years. All they do is plug it in to diagnostics, and then say its coming back with no error codes and send me on my way. Right now you can't even get a loaner vehicle at the dealerships that are near me for over a month. Meaning they have more long term vehicles being looked at right now than they can accommodate, and are having to turn people away for service. Do yourself a favor and run as far away from Hyundai/Genesis. I would not wish this experience upon my worst enemy, and I'm counting down the days until I no longer have to deal with this vehicle. I wish I still had my old Honda Civic instead of this $60k piece of junk.

High Value for the Money

I am delighted with this well engineered vehicle. Easy to charge, fun to drive and economical. I do find the seat position changes unreliable as we have two drivers.
