Ioniq 5 limited RWD SC reviewer

I like the derivation , the looks , the acceleration, the infotainment unit , but I hate that there is no rear window wipers, no wireless connection to the Apple CarPlay and had to use the main USB port , which is so primitive esp. to my high trim, overall a nice ride but could be much more desirable if those issues are fixed

Hey Hyundai.. I know you can do better ; just listen to us !! More sturdy heavy duty look would be a killer Doors don’t lock .. someone can suddenly or accidentally open the door while vehicle in motion..

Simple and great ride

My first EV, and a very nice car to drive in the city with great efficiency. It needs the charger at home, but overall great. I'm preparing my first long trip, to check how it fills. You need to drive it.

Hyundai Ioniq 5 SEL RWD

>Well built, stylish and good leg space. >Comfortable drive with relatively lesser road noise compared to competitor cars. >Ease of use and powerful bluelink with MyHyundai app. >In city Miles Range matches what is marketed, on free ways with higher speeds, falls short by almost 50 miles. >On my model A/C keeps making repeating loud beep with no root cause, and this is annoying. >Lacks features like auto wind shield wipers, trunk opening with leg gestures, which are present in my 2018 Honda CRV touring. >Cargo space is smaller compared to ID4.

The future is here!!!!

I finally got the ride of my dreams. If only the mid trims received more luxurious options for the price. It would have been perfect! The interior is smart, the design is awesome, the features are excellent.

Really like my new Ioniq 5 for so many reasons, but it's not perfect

Purchased an Ioniq 5 about three months ago. So far it's been great, better than expected BUT there are some minor things I don't like if we are being honest. The glue that holds some of the seat backing is failing, the velcro is coming loose. Charging is a challenge, even though Hyundai gives me free charging, the Electrify America experience is hit and miss. Other than that? Great car, very good value.

Great experience overall. Nothing yet that would make me add a n egayive review.

I like the comfort and convenience features. Fast charging is amazingly effective so I don't have to worry about getting my L2 charger at home for 2 years. Range is sufficient so I can stay in the 20 to 80% charge for a full week of my commute.

A fun, stylish, and solidly built car with unfortunate misgivings

This vehicle is well-made, attractive, and very fun to drive. Unfortunately, the Level 2 AC charging issue in which the charging port overheats during charging is absolutely unacceptable. Additionally, the lack of features (like a decent sound system and electronic front passenger seat adjustments) at this high price point is disappointing and prevents a runaway recommendation. Finally, the cost of flushing and replacing the main battery coolant (over $300 every 3 years by some estimates) is very high and is detrimental to overall vehicle value. That said, it drives well, which is obviously the most important thing that a car should be able to do.

Great Car, dealership is very important!!

I love the car. It functions perfectly, does everything better than expected, and appears to be a good value for the money. One thing I would warn everyone is to be careful who you buy the car from. So far my dealership has been unresponsive to any contact I have made with them in regards to installing safety recalls/updates. If I was aware of this, I would have purchased from a different dealership. The 2 years of free maintenance really doesnt matter when you can't book an appointment with the service department

Great vehicle let down by CCS and average Software

The vehicle is great overall, but you have to really be patient and diligent to deal with the CCS charging network. The navigation software in regards to planning EV charging stops is difficult to use compared to other EVs like Tesla and Rivian.

Good vehicle

The vehicle is great looking, drives well, features are impressive. We test drove and looked at a lot of EVs and the ioniq5 was the best. The only thing that we don’t like is the occasionally hesitation while accelerating as well as a couple times it has slowed down for no reason. We will be taking the vehicle in for inspection next week.

Yes but a few quibbles

It has a few quibbles but overall is a good product a good intruction to electric vehicles. Installing a home charger has been a chore, but that’s another story. I don’t feel like the dealer paid enough attention to that

Great auto; Poor software and documentation

Everything about the physicality of the car is very well done. However, all of the manuals are very poorly translated and very unclear and confusing. The software features (Bluelink, Nav) are amateurish or just do not work

Almost there!

This car would be perfect if it could just fix a few of the most annoying issues: - lack of auto locking - lack of wireless CarPlay or Android auto - confusing steering wheel controls for music All of this can be fixed via over the air updates. Let’s keep our fingers crossed!

Too New Alot of Features Not Explored Yet

I wanted the Kona EV but was not available at time, the original Ioniq was a real good car. The Ioniq 5 is more along the lines of a Tesla Y. I like it, but it is not very Efficient . maybe one day Hyundai will have a Car under $30000 that is more along the lines of what the original Ioniq was.

World-class handling, range, styling but let down by the clunky, screen-heavy interface

In terms of EV range (I get up to 360 miles around town), fun-to-drive, styling, and comfort the Ioniq 5 is fantastic. The only downsides are the pick-up truck turning circle, the irritating yet unreliable drivers aids, and fetish for screen "buttons" when real ones are safer, more intuitive, and more reliable. Oh, and my 2006 Honda Fit, which is 25 inches shorter, holds more stuff (which to be fair is true of a lot of vehicles ranging from the Honda Accord to the new electric Chevy Equinox)

Great first electric car

I think this car is great to drive and looks good doing it. It definitely has a mandated drive style to achieve the mi/kWh that they are claiming that I apparently don't have. But for inter-city driving, it has been a blast.

Long distance travel not recommended, needs a rear wiper. For back and forth to work it is amazing. Great ride. Tons of storage spots inside the vehicle, makes me feel like I’m in a minivan with the open center console space

Family car

We have been very happy with this car. We have put 20,000 miles in it in a year. It charges very quickly making convenient to use the rapid charging station instead using at home charging. It will make a great first car for my son soon.
