Love this car, but regret buying it

First I will say my wife and I really enjoy this car, it is exactly the vehicle we had been hoping to find. It's our love for this car that makes the experience of owning it even more disappointing. Within the first week after taking delivery the air conditioning failed and we were driving around in Florida heat for about a week before parts arrived. The car spent two days with the dealer for the repair. To be fair we were ok without AC briefly we still enjoyed the car and after the repair air conditioning works great. Shortly after the car was returned to us I gave it the first wash and wax, this is when we noted a very large and poorly done paint repair to the driver's door and rear door that suggests the car had been involved in some sort of incident that required a repair of this size. I brought this to the attention of the dealer and contacted HMA case #42770142. This process was started June 1 2026. So far the response has been that the dealer would replace the driver's door handle (the least of my concerns). As far as the paint is concerned per the collision center I would have to pay an estimated 2,115.00 dollars to have the repair corrected. Thus far the usual state of things is I call the dealer, the dealer states they are waiting on HMA, HMA states they are waiting on the dealer, and the only resolution to the paint issues is for me to give the car over to the collision center for at least a week along with a check for at least 2,115.00. I am very disappointed in this. This is the first new car I have ever purchased, and this car came with a significant amount of debt and to discover I was sold a wrecked and repaired automobile makes me want to be rid of this car. Which is the point that makes us sad. This is the car we wanted and still want. Hyundai has built a fine car. If I had known that this car was damaged and the response from the dealer and HMA would be so apathetic. I would have made a different choice. So to be clear I do like this car very much- the drivability, features , comfort etc. all fantastic, but every time I get in the driver's side and see the repair I very much regret my decision to purchase this car.

Range you can depend on

I absolutely love my Hyundai Ioniq 9! The range is outstanding—I can go up to about 335 miles on a full charge, which makes road trips and everyday driving stress-free. One of the biggest perks is having access to Tesla Superchargers along with other major charging networks, so finding a place to charge is rarely an issue. The ride is smooth, the interior is spacious and comfortable, and it’s packed with great technology. If you’re looking for a family-friendly electric SUV with excellent range and convenient charging options, I highly recommend the Ioniq 9!

My IONIQ 9 Review

Great ride, very nice design and powerful!! Full of amenities to enjoy the riding experience. There should be more interaction between the car and driver when in driver assist mode. There has been sometimes when the car was ready to disengage the feature or had lost navigation and I was not immediately aware. Potential safety issue in my mind. I gave reliability a 10 for now since I just really started driving the car. Time will tell.

Great Wheels

I loved the Ionic 5 and I really love the Ionic 9. More electronic features than I need but stuff my husband nerds out on. When driving you almost have to pull over to read everything going through the menus.

Absolutely LOVE

We are so incredibly happy with our purchase! We have always loved Hyundai but this car is in line for 1st against the Palisade! The second row has more than enough room for a rear facing car seat, plenty of room up front to be extremely comfortable, and the charge lasts us over a week! We love our purchase.

Not reliable enough

I am beginning to feel concern about the quality of Ioniq. In less than 4 months, the HVAC acentuator was spoilt. It's too early for such high hyped and pricey vehicle. There is a remove to improve. The dash screen is too far from driver reach and the below button is also far from reaching when driving. The back view camera is too way up and the wiper can not clean the camera because of its location.

Perfect Slick Car

I love this car. The color is great and it drives smoothly. Very quiet, yet extremely fast. I only had for about 2 months, but I think it is over performing that what I expected. Lots of compliments from people. I love the way I can set the climate before I get out of work. While outside is very hot, my car already cools down the temperature inside!

Excellent car

Great car, definitely a few gripes. The fob is bulky and pretty ugly. Having walk away locking would be great. Seems like it would be an easy feature to add. Lane assist seems to move left and right a bit. No big qualms though.

They are dying as a fun car to drive stylish and people look at you a

The car I love is fun to drive. It’s comfortable just everything about it. My insurance didn’t go up when I got this particular vehicle ionic nine because of the same features so I’m really happy with that but corporate sucks. They owe me money and they don’t wanna pay it and I keep fighting with them more. I just gave up that’s what they wanted so anyway thank you

Had nothing but problems with this car from the get go.. between the sun roof.. the seatbelts and the tires I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

Got rid of my Cadillac Escalade and got the Ionic 9. Love it!

Got rid of my premium gas guzzling Escalade ESV. Love driving my fully electric Ionic 9. Finishes quite similar. Acceleration and handling are amazing. Love the driver assist and lane safety features. Had to charge once in Manhattan. Plenty of room at a quick charging station. 100% charge in 20 mins cost $15. Range at 100% is 450 miles.

Great size, still not a Tesla

The Ioniq 9 is the only Hyundai I’ve owned, but still pales in comparison to the technology and infotainment features of my 2017 Tesla X. The car does what it should, has great size, smooth riding and driving, but as an experienced EV owner, it could use some study of the competition.

Very annoying tire noise. Otherwise 10 Star vehicle

This is a great vehicle that I could not ask for more. It's got the power, comfort, convenience, and nothing more I could ask. I love this car over Range Rover sports I drove some time ago. However, one issue is that there is a tire noise or some sort of noise coming from the wheels. I have Ioniq 5 and I don't hear this at all. Even my Tesla I traded for Ioniq 5 after 4 months of ownership didn't had this tire noise. Dealer did a full inspection, but didn't find anything wrong. If it was a gasoline car, it is equivalent to a wheel baring sound I had on my Toyota about 20 year ago. It is very bothersome. Otherwise, this is a truly a great car ever! Just fix the styling for the back part......

2026 Ioniq 9

I really enjoy driving the Ionic 9. The windshield is large and allows for me to see more as I am driving. The frame of the vehicle does not create blind spots. The angle of the windshield is closer to 90 degrees which makes the view more open for me.
