Wonderful Vehicle!

Coming from driving a Honda since 2008, this Hyundai Ioniq 9 is a literal dream. It's also our first ever all electric vehicle, and we are loving that as well. I love the smoothness, gracefulness, luxuriousness, and style of this vehicle. Everything that you can think of, for the most part, has been thought of by somebody and integrated within the features of this vehicle. It is absolutely fantastic, and I look forward to driving it for the next three years. I only have a few things I would change: a convenient spot to put sunglasses, more cupholders for the driver and passenger, and a pinch more space in the third row. Otherwise, this vehicle is absolutely amazing in all aspects, and I highly recommend it.

I love the Ioniq 9 and Hyundai's support of it

The car provides a smooth ride, quiet, and with a sense of safety unmatched by the Mercedes and BMWs I have owned in the past. It gives passengers and excellent experience with supportive, heated captain's chairs in the second row and we have found it more than adequate size to haul our Bernese Swiss Mountain dog on long trips. The support by Hyundai with on line manuals and (most of all) a lot of videos has been really helpful.

Love the car, software a problem

Most recent software update requires the vehicle not be in a building underground garage if you wish to use your phone in lieu of carrying the enormous key fob, which formerly was able to do. I park the car, lock it and leave. When I return the car remains locked. The Hyundai app won’t unlock the because the car is being “driven”.

Features I wish it had that I thought it had

There are many things that I like about the ioniq 9, and they are several I thought were standard but now wish maybe I got a different manufacturer. First is the fact it doesn’t know who the driver is unlocking the car. I have to change the seat every time because my wife is half my size. Two, it doesn’t lock automatically after I leave the vehicle. I have to lock it. Also, it doesn’t always unlock or lock when I am next to it. I have to press several times. Third, it doesn’t work well with commercial charging. I have to attach it 3-4 times besides it can be recognized. Not fun in freezing weather. Fourth, the fingerprint doesn’t always work, and it requires me to reset it every few months. I took my vehicle into the dealership to address all of these and they said Hyundai didn’t have answer and they can’t be fixed.

Love the car hate the service

Car is great. I wish your designers had planned on putting the charging port on the left to make it easier to use Tesla superchargers but other than that it’s great. Customer service and service from the dealer are awful though.

Great EV and Best Value in its Size

The Ioniq 9 is amazing. It has a smooth quiet ride that retains its charge. The car picks up speed quickly and you can be well over the speed limit without realizing it. I did not like the update where it automated the regenerative braking but we figured out how to turn it off.

affordable Luxury

This is the best vehicle I have own (at least so far). The ride is smooth and so silent (it is like being in a library). Furthermore, the ability (not that I haven't test it) to go 0-60 in 4-5 seconds is insane for a 3-row SUV. My kids love the back seats. This car was build with extreme attention to the interior and is spacing. It feels like a total new type of vehicle. Plus the EV aspect is just fantastic in this times of elevated gas prices. My kids, my wife and I look forward to rides in this vehicle. Plus the price point is well worth it. The outside styling is eye catching and it may not be everyone's cup of tea, but it is still nice looking (the interior and performance is what really carries it to fantastic levels)

Creaking back panel

The vehicle technology is great. But we have been experiencing a creaking noise in the rear of the vehicle since we picked it up, we’ve had it replaced, and the service has been phenomenal, but the issue still remains. Maybe because the vehicle is a new vehicle from 2026 and so this first generation may have some kinks but it is disappointing.

great car but has some electronic issues

Often the car has glitches. Some of these are: won't start easily with digital key, the car is already in the shop for the sunroof getting stuck open, it doesn't go into neutral very well in car washes, I cannot have more than two with digital keys. its just not amazing for the price we paid.

A few flaws from the start

Soon after receiving the vehicle, I noticed that the rear tires seemed... odd. In fact, they were way out of alignment/camber, although I wasn't sure. We scheduled service a couple of months later, and they had a struggle to align it. They blamed some heavy items in the cargo area, but once it was "aligned" using a jack stand, it still doesn't seem right. They promised to contact Hyundai about replacing the rear tires, which already show irregular wear after 4000 miles. I have heard nothing back since. There are multiple driver profiles allowed. But setting just two doesn't seem to work. My Apple CarPlay would consistently erase my wife's Android Auto connection, and vice versa. And of course the profile-linked seat positioning that the salesman told us about is disabled in the software of this trim level. Pretty annoying for a very expensive car.
