Outstanding value for a seven passenger SUV!

Trading in a 2023 dual motor Ioniq 6 SE which replaced a plug-in Volt with a 67 mile electric range. Loved the long range I-6 it was quiet, powerful and could travel 300 miles between highway charges at the speed limit. Would still have the I-6 but weekly overnights with three grandchildren in late 2025 created challenges in transportation. Got a wonderful lease deal on the Ioniq 9 SEL trim - it is even quieter, more comfortable and transporting three grandchildren with child car seat and two boosters is a breeze. In 160 mile interstate trips at the speed limit indicates a highway range of 300 miles given the bigger I-9 battery. Pleasant to drive and the dual motors have adequate power. Good news was that insurance, outrageous in Florida, was a $1,000 less per year than the I-6 dual motor - mostly due to the better protection and the latest safety features.

Upgrade from Ioniq 5 worth every penny

I converted to electric 3 years ago. If moving from my first EV to my second is any indication of the future, I can not wait for the future of Hyundai. The Ioniq 9 is an incredible ride with great range. I couldn’t be happier.

Disappointed with SEL

- cannot use phone key at all just like model Y - doesnt auto lock when we go away - blind spot cameras are almost useless the position is hard to see - music system is really not that good. - also infotainment lacks video apps like you tube - 3rd row seats close down hards - door handles gets stuck - had to take it to repair within 2 months

Best Decision Ever

We weren’t even looking for an electric vehicle, but the 2026 Hyundai IONIQ 9 completely changed our minds. Everything about it—from the stunning color to the driving experience—is just excellent. What really stands out is the driving dynamics. It doesn’t feel like a typical EV; it has the grounded, substantial weight of a powerful combustion engine car, yet retains that signature electric smoothness. The convenience factor is also a huge win. Since it’s compatible with the Tesla Supercharger network, finding a station is effortless. We can hit an 80% charge in just 20 minutes, and the range estimates have been incredibly accurate—delivering exactly what’s promised on the dashboard. It's truly an impressive machine!

Great vehicle

I am very pleased with this vehicle. It is everything I expected. I wanted a larger version of my previous vehicle, an IONIQ 5, and this fit the bill exactly. Quick and great handling for a larger SUV, with better range and just as fast charging. There are also more luxury features than my previous vehicle. I couldn’t be happier!

Nearly There

For a 3-row family car where it is likely to have multiple passengers, the lack of memory seats is shocking. Other than that, am not an audiophile, but i think the base speaker arrangement is very below par, it is probably the worse sound system I have encountered in the last 10 years of cars built steering is good, some different steering modes would have been nice Lane Keep, the UI and which mode am in, not sure how to turn off lane departure, the whole things is messy.

Would be the best value 3 row EV if Hyundai could solve ICCU issues

There are not many 3 row electric SUVs on the market, and the Ioniq 9 is the best value for the money by far. But I still can't in good faith recommend that anyone actually buy one until Hyundai/Kia can figure out and solve their ongoing issues with the integrated charge control unit (ICCU) that is prone to failure leaving you stranded on the side of the road. This issue has been known and ongoing since the Ioniq 5 and EV6 launched in 2022 and STILL had not been solved despite the multiple recalls.

Apple CarPlay and Outdoor Oxidation

The car is brand new and already there’s oxidation (rust) on the chrome/steel parts on the back sides of the car by the windows. How is that possible? The car is 2026 and it’s already rusting? Incredible. The Apple CarPlay has at least 3 second delay - again how’s that possible for a 2026 car? After paying so much money to get a car that rusted already and don’t have the capability to work the CarPlay without delay is very astounding.

Great car

I love the car, it meets all my needs. One issue though I'm still trying to resolve, the steering wheel makes a strange noise when turning one direction and service is telling me it is normal.

Missing Key Features

I’m very upset that my $70k car doesn’t have seat memory or phone key included. Kia your sister company had it on all trims. This is rediculous. Even the sales reps are confused by it.

Great 3 row ev but with some flaws

Overall, great vehicle. Plenty of room. Lots of features, easy to charge, nice interior. The bad: Worst interior seat color scheme ever. No 7 seater in higher trims Everyone calls it a minivan One peddle driving requires you to switch to it every time you drive. Passenger seat creaks on bumps when empty. No way to use cameras while driving It has a power button; why? Worst thing ever. Suspension is too floaty.

An EV offering outstanding ride quality and spaciousness.

The Hyundai Ioniq 9 is an outstanding electric vehicle that truly shines when it comes to ride comfort and space utilization. It offers a remarkably smooth and quiet driving experience. Hyundai's interior packaging consistently outclasses its competitors, and the Ioniq 9 is no exception. It is incredibly spacious, making it the perfect vehicle for a family of four. With plenty of legroom and headroom, even a teenager and a growing child can ride in the back comfortably without feeling cramped. Another huge advantage is the rapid charging speed. When utilizing fast-charging networks like Electrify America, the battery tops up incredibly quickly, making road trips and daily driving completely stress-free. However, there is one area that still holds Hyundai back: the exterior design. While their engineering and space utilization are top-notch, their designs often fail to resonate with a broader audience. It reminds me of Kia's struggles in the past. Kia used to be overlooked for its styling, but ever since the introduction of the K5, they have received massive praise in both the US and Korean markets. Hyundai already possesses world-class technology and practicality. If they can start applying a universally attractive design language that captures customers' hearts, they undoubtedly have the potential to surpass Toyota and become the top brand in the global market.

Luxiourious hauler

This vehicle has surprised me from day one. The technology in this car is well done and dialed in. It took awhile to adjust to going all electric but once you learn the nuances of technology, it is wonderful to drive. I truly enjoy the driving aids, cameras and how smoothly everything is integrated in the car. The car feels well built and drives incredibly smoothly. Because of the vehicles size, it isn't as efficient as smaller vehicles, but it is a trade off to having a three row SUV with luxury features and plenty of room for your family. Driving dynamics are good and there is plenty of power in the vehicle. The only thing I've found that I don't like is how squishy the brakes feel. The motors regeneration helps offset the brake issue, but I'd prefer a more firm feeling pedal that what's in the vehicle. As with any vehicle that uses a lot of software for the control and infotainment system, there are several things that could be improved in software, but for me it doesn't detract from my love of the vehicle. Overall, this is an amazing vehicle for the price and the luxury features you get. You can get more luxury and features, but then you are well into the $100k price. Great job Hyundai! I hope more people give this vehicle a chance.
