Repeated issues with less than 400 miles

I purchased this vehicle brand new and drove it for less than a week before having to take it to the dealership due to an electrical issue. I was told by my service person that the controlled motor unit was bad and needed to be replaced. A week and a half later I picked up my vehicle around 5:47 at night when I got home I noticed A weird smell coming from the trunk area of the vehicle also the front trunk. Opening mechanism was having problems so I decided to take it to the dealership in the morning upon driving. I was prompted with a loud warning in the dash stating to stop the vehicle and check power supply. since I was already going to the dealership I was just going to drive it there until I realize that my speed was reduced to. 24 miles an hour so I immediately turned back home and had it towed. It made it to the shop at 9Am in the morning afterwards I was told by my service person that the ICCCU was bad it needed to be replaced and that part was on back order another week and a half has passed. The vehicle was supposed to be ready then I call to verify a time to pick up and more bad news the ICCU that was installed went bad on top of that a wire was burnt out. And I also needed a new 12 V battery. Everything is on backorder. I highly recommend researching the brand in the common problem with the ICCU that they have.

Less than 2000 miles in: TURTLE MODE!

Car reports, literally, nothing wrong yet here I am with basically a useless vehicle. Super disappointed that I have to deal with this issue at a dealership I don’t like.

Great purchase

We were a little nervous about the change to an EV especially with one so large but it’s been a blessing. Hyundai has made it so easy. The SUV GPS tells you when to stop and charge, not to mention for how long. When you combine that with the fact that we went from spending $380 a month in fuel for our Palisade to a little over $65 in electricity; it’s a no brainer.

best looking & technically designed auto with poor finishing details

We bought our car at the end of September and discovered that it had been damaged either at the factory and/or during transport to Kirkland, WA. So, our use of the car is very limited as it had about only 71 miles when we finally took it home, January 15th. With 221 miles now on the car, we are beginning to appreciate all the benefits of the car. Most frustrating, however, is the lack of a well-organized, easy to understand owner's manual. We find the manual in the car limited. And the PDF version easy to read but very disorganized. For example, when searching for information about driver assist for example, the table of contents indicates page 409, but when I look for that page I only see page 408. Page 409 is missing! I checked with ChatGPT and it described the PDF version of the owner's manual as combination of traditional organization and concept organization. This is frustrating. When I look for videos for explanations about the same, I'm directed to you and watch someone, who is not a representative of Hyundai, explaining driver assist but missing lots of detail. Later, we attempted to practice the secret/spare key approach to opening the car. In the video the person easily slide the key box (whatever it's called) catch easily, didn't really show which way (right or left, inside or out) to push the lever. We busted thumbnails attempting to do the same, before deciding to postpone until we visit the service department some time in the future. So in summary, while we enjoy driving the car, practicing the use of various facets of this technically awesome car is not easy to accomplish. We think Hyundai can do a lot better in providing better education for new owners.

Great Car Except I Can't Level 1 or Level 2 Charge at Home

After exhaustive troubleshooting, it appears that the Ioniq 9 has issues with Level 1 or Level 2 home charging. Public chargers appear to work OK All of the other variables have been eliminated, the car itself is the issue. I've checked this by trying to charge other EVs and they all work except for the Ioniq 9 Example (not me): https://www.reddit.com/r/Ioniq9/comments/1mzdfyl/outdoor_outlet_charging_l1_trips_gfci_outlet_for/ I was recently the victim of another vehicle through a different car manufacturer with a similar Issue. I was able to get a full buyback after going through Lemon Law. So I'm well-equipped to advocate for myself if this vehicle does not function as it's advertised. Works well except I had a passenger airbag fail shortly bag fail.

Good car, but suffers from first year model issues with quality. Failed passenger airbag after bag after only a couple weeks.

Could do so much more

The car ionic 9 has cameras everywhere but no ability to record what a waste of an opportunity. It also has user profile so that you can switch drivers but nothing really changes when you switch profiles for example the seats don't change to that users seat preference why what's the point of having different profiles the map that comes built in is glitchy and I'm not user friendly.

I love this car. The features are awesome like heated steering wheel, two profiles that align with seat position and apple car play, easy of plugging in, roomy. Wish there was an option in the back to have inserts so groceries don't roll around.

Couldn't be happier

We loved our Ioniq 5, but wanted the additional space of the 9 for family trips. We love this car too. I still miss the 5. It was a bit more fun to drive, as the 9 is very big! But the extra space is also great and we much prefer it to our old Volvo XC90. Our other current car is an Audi Q5 PHEV, which we will likely return for a new Ioniq 5 once that lease is up (or maybe the Ioniq 3!).

First EV and Love It

Hyundai has done a very good job building this seven seat EV. While I do not have a large family, I use the extra space to haul stuff and just like the extra space. The EV makes it quiet, quick and smooth. Love all the LEDs. Range is excellent, especially in the warmer months. Believe it or not, I have been charging in regular outlet in my garage. I just don't drive many miles to need a level 2 charger yet. Not crazy about the grille, but hey, tell me when everything on a car is to your liking. The car is expensive but I think worth it. I've leased cars all my life and this may be a keeper.

Beats expectation

The Vehicle is quiet and comfortable. Sound system is excellent. Its beats epa range rating by quite some margin. Surprsingly even 3rd row was comfortable for grown adults

Good value for money

This one of the best car available for this price that is 3 row SUV. The car is still expensive considering the incentives lease price wise it was good. Performance wise I have no complaints although I did not try in harsh conditions. Couple drawbacks are there was no hitch available when I purchase and today there is one offered but the price is just tooo high. Also, although I visited service two times with a complain for passenger back door not closing correctly, I am told that it is okay. It is clearly a built issue, door is not aligned well.
