Review of My 2026 Hyundai Palisade Hybrid

I recently purchased a 2026 Hyundai Palisade Hybrid, and after spending time with it, I can confidently say it was the right choice for my family in many ways. The first thing that stood out to me was how smooth and quiet it is. Around town, the hybrid system makes a noticeable difference. It feels refined and effortless in traffic, and the transition between electric and gas power is seamless. On the highway, it has plenty of power for merging and passing, and the ride is extremely comfortable. Fuel efficiency has been a big win. For a three-row SUV of this size, the mileage is impressive. I wanted something spacious without sacrificing efficiency, and this delivers exactly that. The interior feels upscale and thoughtfully designed. The materials are high quality, the seats are very comfortable, and there is plenty of room in all three rows. Even the third row is usable, which was important for us. The cabin is also very quiet, especially at lower speeds when running on electric power. Technology is another highlight. The large screens are clear and responsive, Apple CarPlay works seamlessly, and the safety features give me peace of mind. Adaptive cruise control and lane assist make longer drives much less tiring. However, there is one major issue that has significantly changed my feelings about this purchase. I am an avid biker, and my friend Bob is, too. Bob purchased a Kia Telluride and warned me that when he installed a bike rack on the hitch, he had to add lights and connect them to power in order for the vehicle to move forward and backward properly. His vehicle was detecting the rack as a trailer. When I went to test-drive the Palisade, I specifically asked the sales representative whether I would have any issues installing a bike rack on the hitch. I was clearly told, "No, you will not have any issues." I relied on that information when making my purchase decision. Unfortunately, that was not accurate. Once I installed my bike rack, I ran into the exact problem my friend described. First, I had to attach lights and connect them to the power in the hitch area. Second, many of my safety features were automatically turned off because the vehicle assumes I am towing a trailer rather than carrying a bike rack. A couple of weeks ago, I had to bring the vehicle in for another issue, and I spoke with my service contact. He told me he was aware of this problem and that the sales representative should have asked more detailed questions before giving me that answer. If I had known this beforehand, I would not have purchased this vehicle. I was told that Hyundai is working on a fix, but at this time, there is no solution available. I truly hope this gets resolved sooner rather than later. Buyers should be aware that if they plan to use a hitch-mounted bike rack, they may face the same issues I am currently dealing with. Make sure you get very specific answers before purchasing. Overall, the Palisade Hybrid is comfortable, efficient, and well-equipped. But this issue has been extremely frustrating, and potential buyers should know it before making a decision. Replaced my Hyundai Palisade with the hybrid version. Had no previous issue with the model and Iove the hybrid version even more if possible. Great quality, price and features.

Disappointed - Needs Work

Look to the pros and cons. I needed a reliable vehicle. The hybrid wasn't at all. The battery kept dying. Had it towed the first time. Then found that my battery jumper box could get it going the next 2 times. A total of (3) times to the dealer to resolve the issue. Changed the battery twice. The third time they had it for more than a month. Hyundai engineering still hadn't resolved the problem and the dealer had (3) other hybrids with the same issue. So disappointed and a new car that I couldn't count on or drive. I really wanted a hybrid due to the many miles that I drive in a rural area (100) miles from the nearest dealer.

Repeat Palisade owner--but missing some features from 2021 vehicle

Really like that this vehicle is now offered in a Hybrid. Please note both vehicles I have owned are CalligraphyDisappointed in the following: 1 - the driver seat leg extension is gone- in place a silly recliner that will never be used by the driver 2- the cup holders don't over support for different sized water bottles--too flimsy drink holder vs 2021 version 3- For second row fold forward option--prefer the manual speedy fold and move forward vs the powered one now. 4- the center console is too small in the newer vehicle--can't hold a box of tissues 5- the glove compartment isn't even large enough to hold the car owner's manual 6- the front seat windows are an unusual shape--also it is difficult to ride with only 2 windows open vs all windows and not have lots of noise Like the ability to finally connect phone to Car Play wirelessly Like the massaging seats- would have liked for passenger to also have the option. This is the 4th Hyundai we have owned- Santa Fe, Veloster, 2021 Palisade Calligraphy and now 2026 Palisade Calligraphy Hybrid-- we used to only want to buy Honda and Toyota-- like the features that Hyundai offers like ventilated seats -- I would be happy to give input with future redesigns Jennifer Braun 513-673-9866

Battery goes dead.

The car battery has been dead two times when it was not driven for about a week. So it has been back at the dealership for extended periods.

2026 Palisade Hybrid

We bought our vehicle to embark on an 18 hour drive on Christmas day. We packed the car and it would not start. The battery was dead with 700 miles on the car. We called Triple A 2x that morning on Christmas and they tried to jump start the vehicle. In addition to the 2 Triple A calls, we also drove it around for an hour in between Triple A technician visits. Ultimately the battery could not hold the charge and we were unable to drive the vehicle. We crammed 3 people and 2 dogs into a much smaller car and we started out hours late on the journey and we had to stop at a hotel for the night. I asked Hyundai customer service and roadside assistance to cover the cost of the hotel and they both refused. We paid over $65,000 for a new car that did not work. Ultimately the dealer said it was a "faulty sensor" and a "bad battery" and replaced both. Since this was a technical issue with a new car that cost us out of pocket, I wanted Hyundai to cover the cost of a hotel which was approximately $300. I sent in the receipt. I am beside myself at the lack of customer service. It ruined our drive on Christmas day. Why can't the company do the right thing? $300 is nothing compared to a $65,000 purchase???? I am disappointed and angry.

Very comfortable, quiet and well equipped vehicle.

Over all, my wife and I are very happy with our 2026 Palisades Calligraphy Hybrid. It is a very comfortable, quiet, nice riding and easy to drive suv. It has great features, which I won’t list here. I rated it a four star instead of five star for the following three reasons. 1. Only an abbreviated owner’s manual. I had to go online for too many things not included in the printed manual. Had to either print or copy operating or other instructions. I am old fashioned and read the manual when I buy a vehicle. Too much obvious BS forced in manual by legal department. 2. Touch screen display too confusing for this techno dinosaur. 3. Highway economy 3-4 mpg below window sticker (Maroney) estimate. I am a very conservative driver and usually get or exceed estimate.
