Great Vehicle - Terrible Dealer
I'll say it upfront: the 2026 Palisade Hybrid Calligraphy is one of the best vehicles I've ever driven. The hybrid powertrain is smooth and responsive, the interior is genuinely luxurious, the tech is intuitive, and it rides like something that should cost twice the price. Hyundai built a fantastic vehicle. If this review were about the Palisade, it would be five stars without hesitation.

During my lease transaction, the salesperson told me a KARR security system was mandatory — required for financing. That was false. The product's own documentation says it's not a condition of purchase or financing. A separate $650 LoJack charge was added to my lease without my knowledge or consent — I only found it by reading the contract line by line after I got home.
Both products duplicate features already built into the Palisade at no extra cost through Hyundai's BlueLink system: stolen vehicle recovery, remote tracking, remote lock/unlock, and anti-theft protection. The dealership never mentioned that. No supplemental window sticker was displayed on the vehicle showing these add-ons or their prices, as California law requires.
When I tried to make sense of the paperwork, I discovered the same $695 charge appears under six different names across the deal documents — KARR Security, LoJack, Theft Recovery, Fusion Series Security System, KARR Anti-Theft System, and security alarm. After reviewing every page multiple times, I still cannot determine with certainty what I actually purchased. If the dealership's own finance office can't consistently name the product, how is a customer supposed to give informed consent?
I submitted a written cancellation within the 30-day refund window spelled out in the product's own warranty. The dealership refused, calling it "non-refundable" — directly contradicting the cancellation terms in the warranty they executed the same day as my lease.
The general manager then responded publicly on review platforms before ever responding to me in writing. My demand letter sat for eleven days before I received a reply full of misstatements and omissions.
I've filed complaints with the California DMV, the California Attorney General, and the FTC. A small claims action is next.
The Palisade deserves better than this dealership. If you're considering one, I'd strongly recommend buying it somewhere else.
