Just what you might want in a plug in hybrid

I have the "Limited" version of the PHEV which illogically means that it has all the options. This car is great for around town driving in EV mode for up to 30 miles or so. On most days we don't drive that far so it is almost entirely EV. For longer trips the engine kicks in and you don't even notice it unless you check the tachometer. This is the quietest small SUV I have ever been in. Yes, some complain that it does not accelerate like a sports car, but it is not a sports car. Even in EV mode it has plenty of acceleration for town driving. In hybrid mode you can get up to speed on an interstate merge ramp with no problem at all. There is an "auto" mode where the car switches between EV and hybrid mode as needed based on speed, hills, and required acceleration. Also, some say the 6 speed transmission is not as efficient as a CVT, but I like the immediate, solid shifting of the 6 speed. No "rubber band" sensations that I had with my previous car's CVT. The Lane Follow Assist does not quite agree with me on where the center of the lane is so I usually let it have its way since we disagree by maybe an inch or two. If it gets on my nerves I just turn it off. So far, less than a thousand miles, but hopefully this car will be good for thousands more.

Really an electric car

This is an electric car with gas back up. Don’t try to use gas at below 40 mpg… gas engine has no torque at low speed Only use gas at 55 mph highway. If you use the ECO mode at this speed, it will deplete the battery too much and require days to recover. Keep it charging EVERY night and will be able to get by without a Level 2 charger

A great car, but I miss the game

I traded a RAV4 PHEV for the Hyundai Tucson PHEV. On the whole. It’s a much nicer car- better laid out inside, more room, more comfortable, and definitely a more fun car. One big disappointment is that I miss the game of trying to drive as much as possible without having to buy gas. I typically don’t drive too far in a day so with the RAV could charge up every night and only buy gas about every 3 months. With the Tucson, I’m having to buy it every 10 days or so. I really liked being able to set the RAV to EV only and then seeing how much distance I could squeeze out of a full charge. The Tucson has an ECO mode, and an EV setting, but when it feels it wants to use the gas motor, (even when there is plenty of EV range left) it automatically switches and there is nothing I can do about it. I think it’s a great car in all other respects, but the inability to just drive on electric until it runs out ruins the overall experience. I gave it 4 stars because other than my gas resistance, it’s a great car.

Overall very satisfied. Only issue is the warning system driving me crazy. I can't find a way to turn off the annoying messages that don't apply to anything, totally not accurate

Digital dashboard malfunction.

This new $50K auto is great but the all digital dashboard malfunction. The service dept does seem to to be able to fix it. I'm considering returning the car for a refund.

Great car with some initial hiccups

Confusing panel controls which are also hard to see when it’s sunny. Car had to be in shop : times in first month. Battery had to be replaced week one. Entire front panel had to be removed and a new CCU for blue link.

Skip this year / model

Gas snd EV issues, strut and brake issues, only been able to drive it about 12 of the first 32 days I have been paying for it as it has been in the dealer service shop.
