Have to nitpick to find things that could be improved.

The wide open and unobstructed view is so BIG that glass tinting should be a standard provision. It would be worth the cost to have custom/comfortable seats installed in the front when new. The stock seats are not horrible, but they don't provide the most comfortable experience either. Plastic headlight covers don't work on ANY make of vehicle and the fogging that occurs over time dims the light provided. Safety concerns should call for plastic covers to be discontinued.

My Beetle

I love my 1999 Beetle. It is fun to drive, but also handles extremely well on the highway. I don’t feel like I’m driving a small car. The only wish I would have: I would like to get better gas mileage. The Bug gets about 27 mpg while my 2015 Nissan Altima (4 cylinder engine) gets right at 40 mph.

No better car out there

My 1999 bug is the best car out there. I love the sport handling, gas mileage, fold down back seats, and the cute asthetic. It can be expensive to repair do to tightly fitting parts and the need for special tools.

1999 VW beetle 2.0 gas 117 k mileage

Has been a reliable car over the years for myself, my wife and now our daughter. Recommended service is a must ! Many problems with the A/C system, compressor, radiator cooling fan, hi/low pressure switch, replaced all two times in 18 years. Replaced timing belt, water pump, catalytic converter,brakes/rotors, front passenger axle assembly, valve cover gasket, both door electric window regulars and switches and various other small interior parts.

The Car that Makes Chldren Smile

I have had my 1999 New Beetle for 13 years and love it. It is heavy, sturdy and drives like a sports car on the curvy road to my home. It's bright color, round shape delight children of all ages, including me. But it is also reliable and has fairly good fuel efficiency. I am wedded to this car, until death (or deterioration) do us part.

Love my baby!

I bought my 1999 VW New Beetle in December 1998, and have been very pleased with the ride, mileage, and "fun-ability" of driving her all these years. A few repairs over the years, but after 15 years with no car payments, those are not an issue. So glad I bought/adopted this car!
