Shame on Toyota - blown transmission at 99K miles

Very disappointing to need such an extensive overhaul at just 99K miles. Tsk tsk. We've also needed to have the door lock mechanism replaced in a couple of the doors. We purchased because of reputation, but will be thinking twice for next car.

Great vehicle but torque converter went at 70k

I love my toyota, or did until the Torque converter went at 70,000 miles and was 10,000 miles out of warranty. Toyota would do nothing for me and it cost $2500 to fix. It needed to be rebuilt and cleaned. Toyota recalled torque converters in Camry's from 2012-2014 but did not recall the Rav 4's. So just beware. Also Toyota told me I should have had every service done at a toyota dealer. I said that an oil change takes over an hour at a dealer and everything costs so much more.

Ok vehicle but

Good driving vehicle city and rural. Highway an issue due to blind spots caused by rear seat head rests. Loud road noise on highways as well. Eats up tired

My mileage has never been close to its rating . I had trouble with driver side window , asked Toyota Universe in Little Falls NJ how much to repair it , was told at least 100.00 just to look at it . I went home and looked up on U Tube and found this was a very common problem . The screws holding the window to the regulator loosen up ,obviously a defect Toyota should cover , I was told since car was out of warranty I was out of luck . U Tube guided me through door panel removal and I was able to reseat the window and put the screws back in and tightened . My next car will probably be a Honda .

The RAV WAS GREAT WHEN I LIVED IN MONTANA. I WAS A TRAVELING NURSE AN HAD TO TO DRIVE TO JOBS THE WERE SOMETIMES A 9 HR DRIVE 1 WAY. THIS CAR GOT ME THRU MANY SEVERE SNOW & ICE STORMS AND I HAD BETTER GAS MILEAGE . SINCE I MOVED BACK TO MY HOME STATE OD PA. I HAVE A 15 GALLON TANK AN GET MAYBE 150 MILE ON 15 GALLONS OF GAS... IN MONTANA I COULD DRIVE 350 MILES ON 15 GALLONS OF GAS. IVE HAD MY CAR SERVICED MANY TIMES AS PA REQ. YEARLY STATE INSPECTION . I USED THE DAC BUTTON WHEN GOING OVER THE Continental Divide Elevation 6,393 feet, above sea level. With snow ice the DAC BUTTON SLOWS DOWN YOUR CAR THUS SAVING YOUR BRAKES. NOW IN PA I WOULD LIKE TO OWN A TOYOTA SPORTS SE EDITION WITH 5 SPEED OR 6 SPEED MANUEL. THIS WOULD BE BEST FOR CITY DRIVING AN SAVE GAS....

Rav 4

Love my Rav! Have had it two years. It did have a starter problem but we got it taken care of. My only complaint is that it is noisy.

Versatile Rav 4

The Rav 4 is an extremely reliable car. In the dnow it handles extremely well The interior space with the fold down back seats is perfect for transporting larger items It is a comfortable car to drive but the seats could be a bit more supportive in your back It handles very well on the road in every condition I do miss some of the luxury of other SUV's

Love the car but not the tires!

I only have less than 18000 miles on it and the tires are wearing too quickly i think. I drive like a little ol lady so i dont understand this. I was led to believe the tires would be good to go under normal driving conditions for 30,000 miles. With winter approaching. This is concerning to me.

2012 Rav-4

Tested against Honda CRV and Subaru Forester. RAV-4 was the roomiest of the three, VERY comfortable front seats. Car handles well on the open road. Gas mileage is so-so. Like most Toyotas, it lacks soul, pizzazz, however you want to call it. Interior is a bit chintzy. Still glad we bought it after three years of ownership. Hope it lasts until I have to quit driving (I'm 66 now), perhaps another 18-20 years.

Love my Rav4. In fact it's my second one.

I love my Rav4, however my husband has always been disappointed in the volume of road noise and the gas mileage. I average about 23.9. I doubt he'll let me buy a third.

All a girl wants !

I love it. Love the mileage, the roominess, the AWD. Drivers seat is comfy, good visibility. What more could I need ?

Great vehicle

I love my RAV4! Almost everything about it! I wish it had a back up beeper when you get to close and its airodinamic design makes it more prone to rockchips in the windshield.... But it's my second one and I would buy another!

I got the last V6 RAV PRODUCED 2012. IT SERVED ME WELL DRIVING THE ROADS OF MONTANA IN THE WINTER. SINCE I MOVED TO LANCASTER, PA FUEL MILEAGE HAS DROPPED. I WANT A COROLLA SE THEY HAVE 6SP MANUEL TRANSMISSION WHICH MAKES BETTER GAS MILEAGE

I am very please with my Rav4. I like the way it handles on the road. I like the color and it can be green, black or blue. I have had miner repairs ,with which you have with any car. I can you it to for my camping and yard work easily.

Wished I got a V6 instead of a 4 cylinders

A would buy another RAV but a six cylinders Holds the road, noisy,. Easy to clean good on mileage and would buy another one. Like it very very much What else is there to say ? What is else is there to sayere????

Great Family Car with One Design Flaw

I purchased the RAV4 when I became a mother. There aren’t any air vents except in the very front. This makes it extremely difficult to heat and cool the car quickly. Otherwise, it’s a good family vehicle for 1-2 children. It has 100,000 miles, and I hope it will continue to be our reliable family SUV for several years.

2012 Rav4 is awesome!

I have had no problems with my Rav4 and get decent gas mileage for an SUV averaging 25 winter 27 summer. I have the 4 cylinder 4WD and absolutely love it. Handles well in all sorts of weather and am completely satisfied with its performance.
