I used another repair shop because it was closer to me instead of Traywick’s….. big mistake! I saw a
small leak in the driveway…..The other shop changed my power steering pump hoses….. I parked and left the car in the driveway overnight. The next day I saw evidence of leaks that I had never even seen before!!! I took it back to the first shop, supposedly the technician tightened up the clamps and this time it was SUPPOSED to be fixed….
They told me that if I bought it back again they would suggest that I install a new power steering AND that mysteriously now I also had a radiator leak as well!!! …..It was still leaking!!!
I took it to an old man that has worked on my car for 21 years…. He said that the top clamps were in the wrong place AND that they weren’t tight…. He tightened them…. Two days later he had to tighten the bottom hoses.
It was STILL leaking AND now the lady of the house noticed the leaks on the ground!!!
Finally I took it to Traywick’s…. Their diagnosis was correct!! Apparently when the car was initially “fixed” (but the clamps weren’t tightened) power steering fluid made its way EVERYWHERE!!! Since it wasn’t properly cleaned the leaking was all over the place under the car!!!
Things happen but wow!! I don’t think Traywick’s would have missed such a small thing like tightening clamps which turned into a big mess in more ways than one….
The original shop is owned by a fellow churchmember…. The lady of the house is looking at me with the “side eye” if I had gone with the suggestions of further repairs I would be thousands of dollars deeper in the hole!!!
I should’ve gone to Traywick’s first!!!!!!!!!!!
