Terrible experience the worst experience I’ve ever experience with any mechanic shop or business
I took my truck to Andrew's automotive for a reman motor rebuild top end and camshaft I requested for this camshaft to be a stage two on month after it took them to rebuild my engine.
They notified me that they did not go with a stage as I requested before they asked me for 3000 down it took one month for them to finish my truck. I paid them in full. They called me and told me my truck was ready. I paid them $8000 in total l drove my truck 15 miles down the street for emissions when the truck failed shut down and would not let me start it. I had to tow my vehicle back to their shop two weeks later I had to contact them for them to tell me that I had a bad engine then they notified me. That I had to buy another engine. I asked him if they properly inspected engine before they gave me a quote and did the repair they told me they did not fully inspect the engine that it was impossible. I notified them that upon them doing a DOD delete on a 2014 Chevy with a 5.3 and doing a camp swap they would have to remove the top end of the engine and the oil pan and remove the camshaft to inspect the internal parts and the engine then he notified me that they weren't looking for anything else, they also had me buy a new head because they stated it was cracked. I asked to see the head so I can see the crack and they told me they did not have it. They also did not take any photos of the crackhead they also told me the only thing they inspected was the repair they did which they told me it would fix the problem on top of that not test driving my vehicle before returning it to me as a Customer to make sure everything is properly running right They told me they had to do a tune, which they never did. Thev also told me that it was a oil pump issue and they couldn't find a oil pump anywhere and gave me some excuse that they sent an oil pump to the wrong address. They did give me #Warranty after the repair, but don't wanna validate the warranty the work I asked for them to properly repair my truck or get me a new engine which would cost me the same amount of money i already payed them or refund me the money.
They notify me that I can buy a used engine and they would swap out the parts. They also told me they were not going to put out any money out of their pocket. I will give a update on any results that I get from the shops. Today's date is April 16, 2025.

ZERO STARS! It pains me to have to do this but I will never tolerate being intentionally lied to… I had 4-5 great experiences here but the last experience ruined it. 2015 jeep Wrangler with a slight overheating problem. They diagnose it as head gaskets. $7000 to repair and no guarantee I won’t need to do it again in 4-6 months. OR, as suggested by the service writer (Jason), a remanufactured unit from power train products with a 5 year warranty for $10k. I dropped off the deposit for the remand motor the next day and was promised a 2-3 week lead time and we made Jason aware we needed the jeep back in 5 weeks for a vacation. Motor arrived within a week, and the swap started. The mechanic installed but found a problem with the new motor. Instead of calling me to fill me in, he just left for his own vacation for a week and left me hanging. The owner, Dan, just let my jeep sit. He didn’t start the warranty process, call the engine supplier, NOTHING. Just kept taking in oil changes and other busy work. No call, no nothing. It was 7 days past the expected completion date and I had to drop by the shop to get answers because they weren’t returning calls. They had my vehicle and THOUSANDS of dollars of my money. Jason had an attitude and was dismissive. Made multiple passive aggressive comments and was rude to me. Since things turned ugly on the shop’s part, I asked for daily updates. Jason refused stating to me directly, “I don’t have the time nor will I call you each day unless I have something to update you on”. I was told the new motor was bad and we needed to go through the warranty to get it fixed. No problem! Not a good way to start a motor swap, but stuff happens.
When another week passed with ZERO movement I started calling the power train products warranty department, and sales agent that sold the motor. I discovered that Jason and the shop had STILL not called to start the warranty ticket. When I confronted Jason he lied more. Blaming the engine company for not returning his calls. Because Jason is too good to update his customers I had to call power train products 16 times total just to get some idea what was being done and I never sat on hold for more than 5 minutes. Power train products salesman as well as engine builder stayed on the phone with me each time and went WAAAAY above and beyond. POWER TRAIN PRODUCTS keeps call logs… I called the engine supplier and was informed by the engine supplier that Jason had only called once and it was just 20 minutes AFTER Jason told me he was waiting on power train products to call him back. HE BLATANTLY LIED. I confronted them again and Jason just continued to lie. I have all of the receipts to prove it.
I finally got my jeep back the week we left for vacation. BUT vacation was still ruined because my jeep leaked fluids all the way to Florida. Had to park it. Couldn’t even use it. I brought it back and it sat for 2 more weeks. This shop did nothing to make it right. After having it for 2 more weeks they told me it was the transmission and had nothing to do with their install. Charged me $300 more to repair. Got it back home and it’s still pouring fluids. They LIED AGAIN. I took it to another mechanic and they found that it was caused by the mechanic. Andrew’s Automotive broke the oil cooler filter housing (definitely a part they had to take off the old unit and put on the new unit during the swap). They were liable for the damages they caused, they knew the whole time the transmission wasn’t leaking, it was obvious the leak was engine oil not transmission fluid, they knew they were responsible for fixing at their own cost… but Andrew’s Automotive chose to LIE and chose to charge me for a repair I didn’t need to cover for a broken part they damaged and could not find the integrity to make right. It was a simple 2 hour fix that cost me an additional $2k to resolve because this lazy shop didn’t want to take the intake off 1 more time.
Never again??
