2 Brand New HRV with Paint Defects
The primary purpose of this review is to inform other buyers of factory defects on two black 2022 HR-Vs vin number 3CZRU6H35NM741238 and3CZRU6H38NM748426. The first vehicle was parked inside upon arrival. Due to the interior lighting the factory paint defects were not noticed until all paperwork was completed and the car “purchased”. Thankfully, due to the suns movement, before getting in the car to drive away bubbles, and white streaks became very evident underneath the protective paint coating. The dealership informed us that Honda would only fix this by re-painting the door and thought this to be the best solution and wanted us to take the car. It was out belief that the purchase of a brand new car means that vehicle should be in perfect, top-notch condition. We refused the paint, as after factory painting of two doors would leave the car’s coloring looking uneven. They then offered the only other black HR-V 2022 on lot. We inspected the outside of the car, saw no blemishes, and returned to financing again to change the paperwork over to the 2nd vehicle. During competition of the paperwork, while they were buffing the car, it became clear that this car also had the same under coating paint defect. It was very clear from the numerous times they informed us, as things kept going from bad to worse, that it was critical we give them a ten on the final survey. That anything below a ten was a fail and would hurt them. After hearing this from our sales associate, two floor managers, and two financial advisors it was becoming clear that their main concern was their performance review not our considerable purchase. At this point we had spent five hours at the dealership and decided to go home and discuss what to do. We informed finance and the dealership to not run any purchase and wait for our decision. Within an hour of being home we decided it was worth waiting for a new car to come in that was not defective. We informed the dealership of this before they closed for the evening and provided them with detailed instructions on how to return our payment and they responded that it would be done. On Monday, the dealership called back informing us that they were cashing our check and needed a notice from our bank saying we would not stop the check before providing us with a deposit. Three days after informing them that we would not be purchasing the vehicle they fraudulently completed a sale for their own performance metrics. I want to make sure anyone purchasing a 2022 HR-V at this location is aware of the factory paint defects of these two cars. After the way we were handled by the dealership I am worried that they will try to ide the issue and not be truthful to potential buyers. While I know that the defect was not the dealerships fault the way that they handled the issue by not offering any discount, any other fixes, and attempting to push the car on us because new ones would not be in for months, knowing we need a vehicle, was predatory, unprofessional, and buyers should be aware.
